The Hobbit Hole XVI - Still round the corner there may wait...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner there may wait...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Hmmm...interesting hot toddy there.

Well, I hope the bug disappears after a good night's sleep. That way, you can enjoy your weekend back home and not be just recovering when it's time to go back to the mines.

Heh! It was right before supper, and Steve was home. Makes a difference. Although I admit, when I looked out the peep hole, the guy had a Army cap on which gave me a big idea as to who was outside my door. He was standing there outside my door, clutching a copy of my letter...he held it up and said "Are you the lady that wrote this?" And I just nearly died. "Yes!" I exclaimed and he said "I just want to thank you and give your boys this poster." I invited him in then...

I took a picture...it's in the disposable camera. I'll post it when I get it developed.

What a great debate!

My friend and I agreed, Kerry should just go away permanently and Bush was great. And then we watched anime because Kerry bothered us and our homework is so annoying and we wanted to have some fun.

Hmmm... um... is your wife coming to Shootmoot? If so I will have to be very careful to stay on her good side.

LOL, it sounds exactly like some talks my parents have had with my oldest little brother, except with phrases like "the big yellow bus stops right down the street" in place of your homeschooling threats...

Oh, I'm so glad we turned off Fox before That Woman appeared.

Good morning!

Yeah, I thought it went well! First little bit was a bit tense...but then Bush relaxed and did great!

Of course, I see much of the media is STILL saying Kerry won. Big surprise there...not.

I think today is the last farmers market of the year! I gotta go buy some squash...they have some great varieties the store doesn't have. I love winter squash...I seem to be in a minority there.

Good morning LF!

I'm getting ready to bathe the dog, take a shower and head out for an hour's worth of Bush/Cheney canvassing in my neighborhood.

Bush did a terrific job last night and I cannot, for the life of me, see why anyone would vote for Kerry. *shrugs*

I'll be back later this afternoon.

I haven't decided yet whether or not I want to tackle taking my car back to the dealership today. But I may have to. She's coughing blue smoke when I start her up and I've discovered that NOTHING was done in the way of servicing the vehicle before I bought her.

The oil was like paste, the battery is running low and it was obvious to me that the car wasn't even cleaned out properly before I took her home.

I found a bag of Wendy's in the glove box when I got home. YUCK!

I skipped it...just couldn't stand the sight of Kerry at that time. Sorry I missed the wood comment.

He was looking especially snooty last night. His finishing school posture had him looking down his nose at the audience (with raised eyebrows) all evening. He even went so far as to suggest the audience looked poor. He was an elitist @~~.

2J, That is so cool! I imagine you and the boys are thrilled. You are probably gonna have them "waving" for a long time.

When I was in high school, my dad used to come fly over the house and "wave" at us. We had a reaction similar to yours, but we *knew* it was just dad.

You hafta know what a boost you are for troop morale.
