New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
ROTFLMBO!!! Indeed no great loss and no accident!
PE and I have talked about doing that. The native grass around here is Buffalo grass. I think we are goign to actually try seeding it after the last frost.
the beatings will continue till morale improves...
classic...
Just had an extended conversation with the wife. We're going to sit down with Jr. over dinner tonite and talk this through.
We're at the point where we think our only option ~if he doesn't get his act together~ is to go the homeschool route.
That means football is over...forever...and I think he knows that. In fact, part of me thinks that he "knew" he wouldn't make it anyway and he deliberately set himself up to fail.
Luke, on the other hand, has informed us that "I'm going to stay in pre-school through the alphabet, then I'm going back to Rainbow Station" (the daycare).
why is it kids these days with mouthfuls of gum, HUGH suckers or other forms of sugar hangin' out their gobs and expect to be allowed chew their cud in a classroom...
garbage can is about full after three classes, and I ain't too popular... like I give a crap...
Luke's on his own program... good fer him...
yuh got muh prayers 'bout Jr... I just don't know what tuh tell yuh... he needs to succeed at something, and carry that over... I dunno, I ain't no psychologist...
but you can tell him he cain't even join the military without a diploma or GED... best he can hope for is flippin' burgers or emptyin' trash cans... somebody's gotta do it, but does he want it to be him?...
Heheheh...the other day, I was in the kitchen and Steve was visiting with me while I made up a dessert for myself. A spoonful of cocoa powder, a big glop of peanut butter, an bit of maltilol syrup and a packet of Splenda. Melted it in the microwave and stirred in a bit of raw oatmeal.
I turned to Steve and said "This is my new dessert invention...I call it 'Halfacupa Crap'."
After 18 years together...it's gratifying that I can still get him to shoot coffee out his nose.
heh... almost shot coffee outta my nose with that one... you are precious 2J...
We've told him all that stuff until I wanna puke. Took him to the Virginia Tech website, showed him the requirements. Pointed out the differences in our families between those of us who went to college and those who didn't. It just doesn't register...
In other news, we're finally getting started on the work to repair the other upstairs bathroom. Best part of that is that he should be able to finish before Nana comes home.
Best part of that is that he should be able to finish before Nana comes home.
heh... didjuh git that in writin'?...
All I did was point to the brand name and blink at him with a straight face. He nearly fell over laughing. He's taken them to work with him and says he laughs every time he thinks about it.
No, but he's reliable. He and his wife moved here from Eastern Europe (Romania maybe?). Came here with nothing and our church gave them a start. He works there on the custodial staff.
He doesn't have the American handyman work "ethic."
Corin, if there's anything (other than prayer) we can do to help, you know we will...
If'n he's from Eastern Europe, he'll work hard, that's fer sure...
bbl...
Thanks Jen.
You know it's weird, but I think you'll understand. There's a lot of crap going on for us right now.
But the only thing really causing me ~anxiety~ is the election.
Does anyone know anything about macs? Joshua turned off all the extensions and I can't for the life of me get them turned back on, even though I went to the extension manager, clicked on all of them to turn them on and then rebooted.
Macs are evilll....
I think Rosie may have had contact with them, though.
