Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Still round the corner there may wait...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Found any dead mice under a desk, yet? Ugh...back when computer people did EVERYTHING to do with networking, we came across some near powdered mice while running cable through the ceilings in an old building.
Running cable is something I really, really don't miss. Dust and bugs and dead things and fiberglass and who knows what-all-else...not my idea of fun!

I agree completely... I am very happy to let the cable guys deal with the Things Above the Ceiling and Below the Floor.
That being said...
I've had my fingers snapped by (unoccupied) mouse traps, while reaching under a desk to try and straighten out cords & cables. And I've seen occupied mouse traps, as well, but managed to avoid getting close...

the .270 is probably one of the best hunting cartridges ever fielded... along with the 30.06, it is one of the most versatile, reliable, and lethal rounds there is...
I had Painless made in 7MM RemMag cuz I'm a ballistics nerd and a velocity freak... you can cram a whole lotta powder in that case...
the new short magnums are peaking my interest, but I am not sold on them yet...

Reason number 1,230,564 why I wish I could homeschool my kids.
I'm just providing supplemental learning whenever I can to pick up the slack. Although, to the school's credit, they really push the kids harder than most.

probably the times I've seen Marines the most filthy was after they'd been crawling around in the ceilings of 50 year old CP buildings installing LAN cable... hehehe... nasty, that. Ever hear about the guy that bought one of those little radio-controlled tanks... would tie a cable (or a messenger line) to it... and drive it down over the plenum tiles... towing the cable. Brilliant, I thought.
