Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
I've been writing strictly in a linear fashion, but I'm thinking maybe that isn't the best way. If I let myself jump around in the story a little, things might tie together better in the end, plus I could move around if I get stuck on one part.
20,000 by the end of the month is a lot! If I could do that too...I'd be almost done. Or...at least three quarters of the way. I dunno, though.
Heh...I've been able to do quite a bit of the writing in my head. The downside to this is that about three times in the past few days, I've driven right past where I was headed or nearly gone through a traffic light 'cause I was wrapped up in my thoughts. People better stay outta my way during November...
Had muh regular dental check up this morning. What they didn't tell me was that it was the time to do the FULL set of x-rays which is basically one picture fer two teeth (being from SW Virginia, it really didn't take that long...). What also caught me by surprise was that, since I used up all my dental benefits for the root canal, I hadta pay fer everything. If I'd known, we would've waited. Plus, they found another cavity. I'd wait, but it's right up front...sigh...the boys really didn't want Christmas presents anyway.
Good news is that I had a relatively uneventful (virtually cough-free) night's sleep. Still having some minor troubles during the day, but they're managable. So at least I appear to be on the mend.
Asked our contractor about replacing our kitchen/den floor. He said he'd already noticed and classified it as an "emergency." The subflooring is warped, which is why the tiles aren't staying in place. We just thought it looked bad. So, that's next...
We're thinking of applying for "Extreme Makeover" - whaddya think? House that's falling apart, grandma with hip troubles, a kid with asthma, me and Jr. with significant allergies...it could work. I could just print my last 2-3 year history here in the Hole for the narrative...
smaagee - good to hear from you. Keep those dems on the run.
ecurbh - good luck today.
I think you should definitely apply for Extreme Home Makeover...on one condition.
If you are accepted, call me right away so I can scoot on up there and gawk at Ty Pennington! *wink*
Honey you can gawk at Ty all you want...
Thanks! It's therapeutic, doncha know!
And illegal in 37 states!
Ya say that like itsuh bad thing. ;-D
Snazzola!!
Well, I wish you success on the whole trip!
I'm vey libertarian in that regard...
You, like, spaced out the thread, man.
Whuh? Dave's not here...
Open the door, man.
It's Dave.
Dave's not here...
No man.... It's Dave.
Open the door.
Argh... the main server is down, which means nothing Unix works at all. All morning it's been "Sorry, we're working on it" coupled with me frantically trying to hunt down the other sys admins... heh, oh well, I'm betting our assignment that was due today's not due today any more...
Dave who?
Mine?
