The Hobbit Hole XVI - Still round the corner there may wait...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner there may wait...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Well...we had a 50-gallon drum of the stuff that sat on a scale. You had to record the weight after you pumped out what you were going to use. Actually, you had to weigh it twice. You recorded the drum weight and the before and after weights of the container you were pumping it into.

That's always good. My grandpa used to make apple cider, and yah... if you let it sit for a bit it would harden up nicely.

I had a gallon jug of the stuff in my dorm room... and I figured (using freshman logic) that if letting it sit for a little while was good, then letting it sit for a long while was better.

Wrong.

Eventually the pressure overcame the strength of the glass jug. When it finally blew... it was pretty impressive.

What, you mean happy Riza? :-D yeah, I liked that. It was some fakeout, too - I was sure Roy was dead.

Can we say... MOVIE! Released in Japan next summer. Coming to bittorrent, who knows when. Several of my friends at anime club and I are half-seriously discussing the following plan:
1. Learn Japanese
2. Go to Japan and see the movie.
Of course, I don't have a passport and would probably, oh, defeat a ninja in mortal combat, so that's not a great plan.

That sounds like a GREAT commercial; appeals to my "inner dwarf", which isn't easy being a hobbit-type.

Not watching much TV means you do miss the occasional excellent commercial.

Hah! I answered what was in there without even seeing it!

Ok, got study materials, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", and a nice lemon drop.

Hmmm.....had that happen with neglected orange juice. Not to the point of package failure but I released some pressure when I opened the jar.

Yeah, no kidding.

MAN, he's awesome! OK, so I suppose you're kinda supposed to fall for the MAIN character, but...oh well.

I'm going to Waterbury as soon as I pick Clare up, and we'd have to come back down 89 anyway. WRJ is just north of the junction of 89 and 91, so wouldn't be out of our way.

Yeah, looking at the map, Montpelier isn't as easy to get to, as WRJ. I checked the Yahoo Yellow pages, and there several restaurant possibilities in WRJ.

Oh, Rosie, it is such a FUNNY movie. It's something you could watch with the sibs and they'd enjoy it immensely!

Everyone has seen it but me...which is one reason I haven't seen it! I rarely rent a movie to watch by myself, and since they've all seen it, they never want to rent it. One of these days.

Heh, this is not an "either/or" situation! But I confess to liking Ed a little more, even if he is on the young side.

Man, I wish that show wasn't over...

Hi everyone!

Just watched "Hellboy" on DVD. Great special effects, but I'm glad I waited until I could rent it. ;-D

I did notice that idiot was back on the Team America thread, albeit via another nasty FR mail to Hair.

What a nasty little worm.

I have it on good authority that getting the passport is easier than getting to Japan, learning Japanese, OR beating Junpei in Mortal Kombat (f34r h1s l337 n1nj4 2k!112).

Oh, I f33r 7h3 l337 ninj4, all right. (Megatokyo is my favorite webcomic).

Yeah, well, we're nutty fans but probably not that nutty. Probably. We'll just wait... and suffer... and wait until some kind Japanese fan rips the dvd and translates it for us.

Hey there!

No, you can't possibly have a meeting with Hellboy anytime soon. He's currently occupying the corner office in my office. ;-D
