The Hobbit Hole XVI - Still round the corner there may wait...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner there may wait...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I tend to take my plots too seriously...which I think is why I failed miserably last year. I can't write a story that doesn't at least take itself seriously, even if it's about silly things!

*yawn* Time for me to go to bed. Been a long, interesting day.

Hmmm... I don't have it on DVD, but I'm in the process of transferring my tapes to VCD. They aren't DVD quality, natch, but they're watchable, if you want a copy!

Heh... you betcha. I don't care about quality - I download low-quality anime, remember? I'm sure your stuff is better quality than the typical .avi file.

Well, alrighty then. Let me get some copies made and I'll let you know...

You may be amused by the mid-90s era commercials.

Heh, no doubt! My grandfather had a set of Star Trek episodes he recorded on Betamax and the commercials were almost as funny as the show...

I wonder though...would anyone on the ground really notice the crack of, say, a .22 short fired 40 feet up? Hmmm....

Two words: "subsonic ammo".

Heh, I just browned a 3lb. beef eye round roast, popped it in the slow cooker, covered it with a bunch of cut up potatoes, onions, celery, carrots and mushrooms. Poured two cups of beef broth over the whole thing and turned it on about 10pm. Gonna smell GOOD when we get up in the morning!!

SO how'd the bagels turn out? Clare loves Garlic Bagels, but it's impossible to find them! We'll have to try our hands at making them sometime.

What a sweet idea for your little sister! I know she'd treasure it, even if YOU didn't think it was a good story, just because her big sister had done it for her.
