Daily Kos Does Not Beleive in Freedom of Speech or Intelligent Debate

Posted on 09/30/2004 3:06:09 PM PDT by elephantman96

Just an interesting Tidbit I thought I'd share with everyone. I find it fascinating that when offering a moderate and interesting question in a post I made on Daily Kos, it was quickly removed from the Board. Seems someone over there does not have the cajones to have a civil and intelligent discussion. Of course I did lob a sizeable hand grenade in their direction, however I did do it in a nice way. In fact I was only trying to help... So what did I ask?

I asked do people on the left realize they are becoming the same people they hated, because they are acting just like the Clinton haters did. I asked why does there have to be so much hate from both sides? This questioning of liberal logic got my post quickly yanked. How sad that those of the left, of free speech and supposedly open mind to debate, can't answer a simple question and that the are so filled with hate that they will remove the thoughts of anyone remotely questioning their motives. The left is in even worse shape than I thought....

Same happens here with lib. troll posts.

Don't bother posting there. They're all red meat liberals and your post won't change anyone's mind anyway.

That the intellectual(?) heirs of Nazism act this way is not in my mind surprising.

Moonbats... Funny.

Why do I bother to read over there? Simple, I like to read other ideologies for the simple fact that it only strengthens my own feelings and second, it is important to know thy enemy. Like I said, I did not out and say something horrendous, I asked a simple question, "why so much hate?" It may be a lost cause, but I think it is important to get people to ask questions and think about things and why we do what we do.

Here is an excerpt from the DU.

I wish I could walk up to Kerry tomorrow at high noon and take him by the hand and lead him to a place of solitude overlooking the waters. I would ask him to get rid of all the goddamn advisor's and spend a few hours in peace and remember when he came back home and fought for the poor, the middle class and their sons in Nam.

He got marines/soldiers/sailors/airmen killed to insure we lost a war so he could pad his resume as a Politician! Not to save the sons of the poor and middle class.

You should try to understand this, first:

It's less futile.

Also the hate you are seeing toward JFnK is a direct result of his actions in 1971.

I certainly understand the dislike for Kerry, I particularly understand (well I hope to understand) the feelings of other vets and POW's. My point to members of Kos is that they (members of the left) always talked about the "Hatred for Clinton". I was simply trying to note, they are doing and becoming, really even more so, the people they "supposedly despised." I just think it is quite ironic when the shoe is on the other foot.

Free speech is only good for the left. They prove to be politically intolerant and do not think the right has anything intelligent to say. They say they want a level playing field but it's only level when it's tilted to the left. Look at their stance on sexual harassment (Clinton's impeachment proceedings). Serving in the military you (after the Tailhook scandal) you were briefed on sexual harassment. One of the guidelines was if you are in a position of greater power it is considered to be sexual harassment (supervisor over one of his subordinates). It didn't matter if it was consensual because of the different level of power could be construed as coercion. Now you tell me that a page in the senate wields the same power that the President does. What did democrats keep saying. So what's good for the goose is not necessarily good for the gander. Then there was the debate about high crimes and misdemeanors. They said perjury did not meet the criteria for high crimes. I think how our language evolves. Our language continually evolves. When that was written was late 18th century. I believe that high crimes might have meant felonies. Today we use felonies and misdemeanors. I believe that perjury may be a felony. What did the democrats keep saying (It don't fit the definition of a high crime). If you or I perured ourselves we'd have ended up in jail. They bounced President Nixon out of office and if Clinton had done what Nixon had done they would have said that didn't meet the standard. What I see in the left is a parade of double standards. They have one standard for the right and one standard for the left. And ne'er the two shall meet.

The hatred for Clinton was justified. Their hatred of Bush is their normal mode of operation.
