Email from my Mom (Jeannie)...
Friends & family,
I received this from a friend whose young son has served 3 tours in Iraq. I know there are so many soldiers over there that do not have anyone here at home to hear from. I have asked a friend over there now to please send names of soldiers who need mail. It doesnt matter what your feelings are about this war, our precious troops need our support.
Thanks to those of you who wish to send this soldier a note of encouragement. It doesnt have to be wordy or long. Just for him to be of good faith and courage and to know that we are thinking about him.
Love to all,
Jeannie
Subject: Marine needs e-mail
a Marine in iraq....he is north of Fallujah. He is an Arabic linguist also, and he is the only one. he has to go out on all patrols. Could you email him? He needs positive contact from all of us safe at home.
his email address is :- hm1dan@yahoo.com
please pass that along to all of our Marines.
in your first emails please put in the subject something like "Sierra Vista Marines, or "Friends of your Brother."
he is not having an easy time.
Yaelle, mojo and tonk are the best links I know to the troops needing email and support. :)
Mojo and Tonk, please post some of your link magic here. :)
Done. Nice idea!
That is a very valid concern. Thanks for expressing it.
Thank you for the ping Misty and Mr.Tonkin!!
Yaelle, if you'd like an email address please let me know. We have Sailors and Marines. We are not allowed to post them on the forum, but we can definitely do it in FReepmail.
This goes for anyone else that is interested.
We received Air Force email addy's today. We need to check to verify that everything is okay. Once that is done, they will be available as well.
Have a great day!
PLEASE REMOVE HIS EMAIL FROM THIS POSTING!!! ANYONE WHO WANTS TO EMAIL FREEP MAIL YOU AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE WHO THEY SAY THEY ARE...THERE ARE MORE THAN THE REGULAR FREEPERS THAT MONITOR THIS SITE AND WE DON'T WANT SOME TOKEYO ROSE EMAILING HIM!
Good cautionary advice.

Many here think about you guys daily.. and are grateful for you're sacrifice.. I know I am..
This website is aware of the good things you all do there. and also the way Iraq has been
changed for the better by the work of our troops.. Actually this website displays frequently
information that is current there by people THERE.. also information on whats happening
here as well.. mostly not covered by the main stream media.. Join our group if possible
and many here would receive you with due respect.. If you cannot, then you cannot..
Anyways Seize the day; and Semper Fi....

Good idea. I sent one today, but I put him on my calendar for periodic emails. I think he may have a good bit of reading to do just now.
SENT TODAY BY EMAIL:
SUBJECT: to our Sierra Vista Brothers
Hey, pal:
We got a message at FreeRepublic.com that you might appreciate an e-mail. I hope this reaches you safely!
My name is Paul and I live in NYC. We think about terror in the back of our minds most days here, in some regard. Yesterday a flash flood stopped the subway trains, and I was stuck in a tunnel for a long while. Eventually I made it halfway home, where I had to walk a mile with a lot of commuters.
During this walk I was reminded of the many New Yorkers who had to walk home on Sept. 11, 2001, when the city was in a panic and the trains were down.
Just remember: What you are doing is a good thing, and we truly support you here at home. I hope you get reports that the public is very proud of you. I sure am. I know it must be hard to be where you are, but remember, we folks at home are your partners. You are helping us and we want to help you as well. We wouldn't have NYC anymore if it weren't for you fellas keeping the rats on the run in the Middle East. Let us know if we can help you in any way, large or small.
Say hi to your fellow Marines from the folks at home. Maybe if you're ever in NYC, you can stop by and let us talk you guys to dinner or something. We really care about you, and the folks and I at my church pray for you every week.
Remember to vote for George Bush, and encourage your brothers to do the same. We need him in our partnership right now. If you run into any difficulties voting, let me know and I can try to find the information you need.
Bye for now,
Paul Klenk
