Another American killed today as just reported by Fox News. Can't those serving in Iraq and other places where vunerability to kidnapping be "innoculaled" with a microchip that would track their location? We have On-Star as an GM automobile option. Can't something similar be done with chip implants etc. to interrupt, stop these atrocities and find the perps?
You start planting chips in people, the enemy will start digging those chips out of people... there are drawbacks.
Excellent idea. But we would have to place the chip in random parts of the body each time. You know what kind of animals we are dealing with here.
The proper thing to do, is to let them be armed and train them to mount an effective counterattack. That is effective. Treating them as if they are your sheep, to tag and keep track of, will only get them killed sooner.
> ... let them be armed ...
Last I knew, contractors could hire bodyguards, but
weren't themselves allowed to be armed. If so, this
ain't workin'.
And then you state the logical back-up to terrorists just mounting a home invasion to kill on site. Anything other than Iraqi bodyguards at this point. At least in one of the Saudi attacks a private security company took out a bunch of the thugs.
Obviously. The Iraqi guards are scared to death of the terrorist thugs. Hiring bodyguards is ridicupous. Folks don't have the resources.
That was my thought, but then again, to capture those mutt insects at least once before they can carry out a butchering would be worth a try.
Folks won't always have the resources for 100% coverage by a competent security team. There is no valid reason not to let folks arm themselves and mount an effective self defense.
Playing field looking more leveled. We rebuild this damn country and stay the course while protecting Americans no matter what. I believe the military will come out on top here and get it done every day. But we have to use something other than whats going on as far as the kidnappings/executions are going. We can't let contractors get scared off for good. We can out stratagize these dirty bastards. Especially after election day and W's mandate kicks in.
Interesting thought - if not that device then something along that line -
I also believe it would be nice if they had the Iraq people signing up to work line up in a secure area only. Three times is far too many times - (and if they need to - make a secure area to conduct job hires)
"We rebuild this damn country and stay the course while protecting Americans no matter what."
That is exactly true. We need to know what is happening to make our contractors safer over there.
If we cannot protect them, get them the hell out of there and let that pig-sty rot.
I think Saudi awhile back changed their tune and allows CCW. I could be wrong if the report I read was bogus.
>>Since 2000, nearly 16,000 people whose country of origin is outside the Western Hemisphere have been apprehended at the U.S. border -- including more than 4,000 from countries deemed national security concerns: Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran, North Korea, China, Pakistan, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Afghanistan, Yemen and Somalia.<<

Does this look like we are fighting the war with intentions of winning?
Microchips are expensive!
