Pookie's toon thread today is outstanding.. but with my modem it took forever to load & I had lots of little red x's in boxes that I had to individually click on "show picture"

Lots of excitement and activity....
..not inconsequential that the headquarters is on beachside and we're dealing with an election process and..the aftereffects of a hurricane!
A church in our area was prominently displayed on news photos....
..and I saw it yesterday.
I've passed by this church for years....and it was surreal what the hurricane did.
It took the top 1/3 of the steeple....just sheared it off....and
..plunged it into the roof of the church upside down!
The church folks (& this is a pretty big church) are now meeting in a large tent!
Anyway, the headquarters was busy busy with requests for yard signs, bumper stickers, buttons, etc.
Because I'm a voluteer, I'm now the proud owner of a nice navy Bush/Cheney t-shirt!!
I also have two tickets for tomorrow to Orlando to hear Rudy speak.....but not sure I will make it.
I will try to give my tickets away, if I can't.

Well, that and fifteen minutes is WAAAAYYY overtime for a halftime show. You've really got about six to get on, do your show, and get off. Christmas lights would be an awesome effect, though.
Sadly, I don't think we're EVER going to get to march our show one. Thanks to Ivan, we had so many folks missing this past week that the directors thought we should just march on into set one, play our music and march off. We even left out a song. : ( Maybe at Tennessee.

Saturday after this coming one, at the University of Tennessee. It's gonna be scary standing on that field. They have a big stadium.
Those cartoons were cool, but some of the Star Trek parodies were freaky. Kerry taking the place of Leonard Nemoy? Augh! Noooo! : )

Just heard on FNC that in about 2 hours from now (so 1:30 or 2:00 eastern) there will be a press conference regarding the Oil for FOod program. Some Congresscritters are convinced that the $$ was used to fund terrorists and AQ specifically.
TV is turned off until later in the afternoon. Please keep me posted as to what is going on. Thanks!

A press conference re Oil for Food scandal with Congresscritters (should be very interesting) at 1:30 or 2:00.
