Welcome.
I never got deployed, I left the uniform pretty much at the same time this happened with 9/11.
Made me feel somewhat like a retired hunting dog.
(If that makes sense)

So I have no understanding really of the feelings of those at home or deployed.
But I can at least be an ear or shoulder to lean on.
Welcome.

All right, all right....

You're re-hired.

Couldn't help but notice the Kachina Giraffe on the shelf......only genuine snake guides have them. I know these things.

:-)

That pipe looked more like a sax in disguise.

It's a wooden, hand-carved, Lithuanian pipe! People go nuts over them - I still have one with a devil head. I don't know how we inherited them. That picture was in my sister's room awhile ago... she had all the stuffed animals, and other Lith wooden and amber carvings.

That bowl could stone a village.

Very nice.

She kept the amber carvings, right?
From what I understand, those are worth something.

Hand carved wooden pipe?
Neat.
Haven't seen anything like that before.

No one has seen anything like that, not even other Liths! People are always shocked when they come over and see my devil pipe in the foyer. The pipe in the photo was my brother's, I had it for awhile, passed it on. One is probably enough. You could really light up!

Yes, we all have amber coming out of our ears. Nothing with any bugs though - I think that is the more valuable price-wise. If I were so inclined, I could get dual citizenship in Lithuania. I might one of these days... but I am SO American through and through, I don't think I could ever move there for good... Not to mention the cats who want to stay here where it's nice and warm.

True. I vowed not to watch the beloved and mighty Falcons this week and stuck to it.

of course it helped that this was a "bye" week for them

Who will they run next time, Michael Moore?

Sorry but I believe that the #1 slot is reserved for a certain NY Senator. Perhaps Mr. Moore would consider VP?

Does ornitholgy have anything to do with ugly orange coaches? Why yes, yes it does.....

Do you realize what a pickle the SEC is in now that Notre Dame has beaten their #1 team on that side of the draw. Durst I say the voters are going to have some consternation now?

We could always hope they have an epiphany before then and run the "senator from NY" back to BF Illinois.

I always was a dreamer. *Sigh*

I'm not worried about her. The press will ooh and ahh and Hollywood will drool but the smartest woman in the world will --like John of Vietnam--hand the Republicans too many outrageous verbal gifts to be ignored. As for John Edwards, can you say political oblivion?
