Both Goldwater's and Rockefeller's mothers and GHW Bush's for that matter were founders of Planned Parenthood. GHWB did a complete flip-flop in '76 when he ran for President the first time. The other two never did.

I will agree with you on Roe vs. Wade. It is terrible law and should be overturned because it is based on fantasy rather than the constitution. There is no 'Right to Privacy' in the Constitution. Abortion should always have been a state issue.

Abortion wan't a public issue until Roe V Wade, when it was literally forced on the country by the Supreme Court.

Then why did Gov. Ronald Reagan sign an abortion legalization law in California two years before Roe that is still far more liberal than anything required in Roe?

Where is nully? We have to start making phone calls to get Tom Tancredo in to replace (rumored) departing Tom Ridge. Otherwise, Asa Hutchison might step in.

From Team America: "You will all remember how Hutchinson embarrassed himself on the John and Ken show. First he wimps out on us by shutting down the Border Patrol sweeps in southern CA -- right after he was paid a visit from the Mexicans First Lobby. Then he goes on the radio show and tried to cover up his decision.

John and Ken crucified him. Listen to it again here:

There is no way we can allow this man to be the head honcho for Homeland Security!"

Don't know nothing bout that. Unless you lived there during that time, I'm betting you don't either.

I'm guessing though that he saw what happened and changed his mind. I saw what happened and changed my mind.

That Goldwater/Bush mothers were involved in Planned Parenthood may be correct but is really not relevant. I'd bet a steak that neither Goldwater nor Rockefeller mentioned publicly abortion or "choice" in the 1964 campaign.

Yes UGA is something else. I wonder what he thinks of football? Does he watch the game or the cheerleaders?

I can remember when most Pubbies were in favor of MANDATORY abortions for anyone on wellfare, unmarried, or in any other way defective.
***
And just before that, many OB/GYN's were known to have done some tube tying when it was convenient, and they deemed it the proper procedure for the patient's, and society's, future well being.
***
Now, we rack up gazillion dollar hospital bills trying to save a toe nail...we just cannot find a rational middle ground in this matter, it seems.

You can't fit legs that long in a pick up.

I know. I own one too. I have a tape measure and am dangerous enough to use it to figure out things like that.

Hehhehheh......

The first time that I can remember abortion being discussed was when I was still in high school. It was on one of the Maud episodes and causing quite a stir.

I'm enjoying yall's commentary.

Yep - there was a time when "some things" were not openly discussed or politiced...now, everything under the sun is fair game.

For example: when the 'toon was asked about his preference in looms.

Sweet mercy - what have we become?
