"Within ten minutes, the little basturds were laying in it gorging themselves."

.

.

Mine seemed to have contented themselves for the time being with the acorns. There are not as many as there were. The birds are abundant though. I put out the suet feeders last week. I don't use them in the summer because the suet goes bad too quickly. Besides, they don't really need it then. It is much better winter fare. I'm pondering whether to get a defroster for the bird bath. We don't get a lot of below freezing weather, but I think it is going to be a cold winter.

Going into the 9th inning with 9 runs for each team. It's kinda exciting.

I take the lower larger half of my birdbath from the fishpond and put it on the deck right outside a window. I bought one of those cheapie defroster thingees from Wal Mart and put it in the bottom. I turn it on only when everything is frozen up here. I have laughed many times to see the birds dipping their feet and having a sip a foot away from me.

I really enjoy the birds. They are so funny to watch. They were getting downright rowdy with their pool birdbath parties every evening there for awhile. I was having to refill the birdbath 2 or 3 times a day. Sometimes I'd look out the window and it would be full of them, usually right about supper time.

Oops, it's the bottom of the 8th. Now it's 9 - 11 Boston. I was confused.
I don't have a running vehicle this month -- been out of circulation for the most part, except a couple of lunch dates.

Oh, my...don't get addicted. My daughter, who loves sports and rabidly follows football, baseball and tennis, has the grandkids in Cardinal shirts and has them acting maniacal. LOL

I love the birds, too. When I first put in my fish pond with the water fountain, I would turn it off every night instead of letting it run continuously.

Well, I was met with a dozen of very disgruntled robins for several mornings. Yes, they were standing around waiting for me to turn on the cascading water. LOL

Birds are typically very smart critters.

Al cooked the most wonderful steak you could ever want to eat. Loddy, the last wood he used was Cherry from the yard. Oven baked potatos, and asparagus with homemade cheese sauce. Oh course a few drinks too. ;)

Thats what I'm talkin about! mmmmm.... homemade cheese sauce! (the only way to eat aspargus).

Canned soup doesn't do it for you?
Me neither.
I wanna steak!!!!!
I'll even eat the saucy asparagus.

I once saw a naughty hat featuring an asparagus spear ... but I cannot remember it.

Yes. My oldest son worked on it for a week and couldn't get it to stop overheating. We think the engine is toast.
I have the '83 Mustang that belongs to my son in Germany, but it needs a starter and battery. I'll try to get them tomorrow. The problem is Gavin has the title with him, and I need it to update the license tags. He said he'll mail it, but I haven't seen it yet.

Why does he have the title with him in Germany? And if the minivan is overheating... remove the heater!
