Modern day John Muir:

"Missing after blizzard, Tucsonan's just fine"

"Like a modern-day John Muir, Marek set off alone about 10 days ago on a backpacking trip up the Sierra's steep eastern escarpment. But he didn't obtain a mandatory backcountry permit that would reveal his itinerary or let others know where he was going, Walsh said.

"The information we got from family members and friends is that he liked to get off the trail, see high places and avoid people," Walsh said."

Just d*mn! I never thought I'd see the day when so-called Americans would work so diligently at destroying the very country that gives them the freedom to be such complete d*cks a**h*les!!

Oh, I don't think I knew that about Jack N. - argh. Cuckoo's Nest! That was sick about Harrison Ford - especially the earring. Sorry, I do not find that manly. Last time I was at Disneyland, I could barely go on his ride once, and that used to be my favorite (it's an Indiana Jones ride). But Disney is pretty commie too, and I only go there if I'm forced to for family affairs.

Thank God I still have Denzel Washington who keeps his mouth shut and is a classy guy. And of course, I always liked Gary Sinise and Bruce Willis.

I think this part gets me the most - last paragraph from #5519: "The proposition was something that we always maintained was poorly written," Matus said. "If that doesn't happen it will be a relief to us as an advocate for human rights."

HUMAN RIGHTS!?!?!??!?! WHAT ABOUT AMERICAN RIGHTS???

Julia Roberts

I never thought her particularly pretty or talented. Somehow, whenever I see her the word "homely" comes to mind. "Pretty Woman" never does.

I was wondering what time that bodacious storm rolled through - thanks for the post.

Amazed that it didn't whack anything electronic here.

Thank God - there is some good news this morning, I am back in Gen X now :) I knew there was something fishy about the chronically shifting dates.

"The real dates are 1962 - 1981. Believe me I spent over A YEAR researching this stuff!!!"

Poorly written? That last sentence defines the term.

Interesting... I liked "The Pelican Brief" a lot... and some demented husband/stalker movie she was in too. I liked her because she wasn't one of those who stripped in every movie. I liked the roles her brother played but I think he might have turned also.

I also liked Demi Moore and Ashley Judd... afraid to hear what they are up (heard scuttlebutt).

Shawshank Redemption - brilliant movie.

Tim Robbins - utter goose.

We must all remember that actors are pretty people who merely memorize the words of others - they are NOT paid for anything they have ever thought or done on their own.

Yeah... I'd better remember that because it's getting harder and harder to find a movie :) and that is one of my favorite things in the world to do.

My least favorite actor of all time is Richard Gere. Every scene is played with the same whining, girlie-man, "I'm about to cry because I am a sensitive, feeling, caring guy" attitude.

I know ... I know ... "Officer and a Gentleman" was a real swooner but even there he managed to make his character into a first class wimp. Louis Gossett, Jr. should have put him out of his misery. At the very least Debra Winger should have slugged him although he cries enough without having a reason to do so.

I always thought that Sandra Bullock was much prettier than Julia Roberts. I think Meg Ryan is very pretty too. Can't say as I know the politics of either, which is probably just as well.

LOL! I remember thinking that movie was morose at the time...

Ahhh - I like those two also. I liked the Meg Ryan movie (dang, forgetting the name) where she fell in love with a guy from the 1800s.

Hey - did you see Lawrence O'Donnell go psycho last night on Scarborough Country?

It used to be one of mine too. Now I hardly ever watch one.
