Funny how it is only democRATs are such p*ss**s that they can't manage to go to the polls and vote because they're so scared the big, bad Republicans might look at them wrong. They must teach whining in public school now.
If anybody's interested, one of our Senate debates (between Blanche Lincoln and Jim Holt) is actually going to be televised on CSPAN. It will be on Oct. 28 at 7 pm (central time, I think).
How's that race looking .. any chance of throwing her out on her butt??
Last I heard she was ahead 14 points, but that is much closer than it was a few weeks ago. He pulled off an amazing win in the 3 way primary. Even in the Little Rock area, where there is a dense RAT population, he took 79% of the vote. Jim trusts in God, not his own political skills, and it has served him well. I think it's possible, but Blanche has a lot more money invested. I think her weakness may be taking her position for granted and underestimating the grass roots support that Jim has. In my area, I see lots of signs for Jim. I haven't seen a single one for Blanche Lincoln, even though there are lots of Kerry signs. In fact, that has been true everywhere I've been since the signs have been out. Pray for this man!

Dear Activist,
As Election Day nears, I sincerely believe victory is within reach - thanks both to the vigorous campaign by Senators John Kerry and John Edwards, and the unbelievable efforts of grassroots activists like you.
I know you are inundated with urgent appeals for help from Democratic candidates and progressive causes, so I will not add another.
Here are two quick items I would simply like to call to your attention. I believe they can make a difference in the coming days and weeks.

1. $1000 Reward for Solving the Bush AWOL Mystery
On Friday, Sinclair Broadcasting will once again smear war hero John Kerry with the thoroughly-discredited Swift Boat lies.
For 4 years, we have tried to find out the truth about George W. Bush's desertion from the Texas Air National Guard. Yet the mainstream media has shown NO interest in getting to the bottom of this story.
Now, thanks to the incredible work of Paul Lukasiak of the AWOL Project (http://glcq.com), we are VERY close to learning the truth.
It all comes down to this: there is a special code on Bush's Air National Guard discharge papers that would solve the mystery: "PTI 961".
"PTI" is the Air Force term for "Personal Transaction Identifier." Lukasiak has determined that PTI 9xx means Lt. George W. Bush was essentially worthless to the Air Force in 1973, and should not be retained in the "Ready Reserves" for callup by the President even in the event of a national emergency.
But why EXACTLY was Bush worthless to the Air Force in 1973, when he still had a year left to serve?
We have long known that Bush was grounded as a pilot in September 1972 after he went AWOL for 5 months and refused to get his required annual flight physical. (The media knows this too, but they keep it a deep dark secret from the American people.) The 9-29-72 grounding record is here: http://www.awolbush.com/kerry-vs-bush.asp
Just this September, we learned that Bush's commander, Col. Jerry Killian, told Bush's replacement (Capt. Jan Peter Linke) that Bush couldn't fly because he developed a "Fear of Flying" - possibly related to his substance abuse. (This was only reported nationally by The Nation, and has been systematically ignored by ALL of the media.) Visit: http://www.thenation.com/doc.mhtml?i=20041011&s=baker
Back in 1972-3, Bush's powerful friends in the Texas Air National Guard managed to conceal Bush's worthlessness from the Air Force for 16 months. But ultimately the Air Force demanded the truth, and Bush was discharged accordingly - with code PTI 961.
When Bush became Governor, his aides - led by now-Presidential Advisor Karen Hughes and now-Communications Director Dan Bartlett - destroyed most of the records documenting Bush's failure to "fulfill his obligations." During the 2000 campaign, Bush's former Guard crony Col. Al Lloyd LIED to the media by claiming Bush "fulfilled his obligations" - a LIE Bush keeps repeating, and the media still believes. And when Bush was appointed President, his aides destroyed the rest of the embarassing and incriminating records.
But they left one tiny trace of the truth: PTI 961.
Although researchers have searched extensively, we cannot find a public record documenting the exact meaning of PTI 961. You can read the details of Lukasiak's investigation here: http://www.glcq.com/pti_961.htm
So that is why we are turning to you.
We are looking for SOMEONE with knowledge of Air Force regulations in the 1960's or 1970's. You might BE such a person - or you might KNOW such a person - or you might know someone ELSE who knows such a person.
We are offering a $1000 REWARD for anyone who can authoritatively document the meaning of PTI 961, so we can definitively refute Bush's LIE that he "fulfilled his obligations."
If you know the answer and want to claim the reward - or if you have ideas on how we can find it - post it here: http://tinyurl.com/4ezsz
Finally, feel free to share this with the mainstream media. Even though the Swift Boat lies have dominated news shows for months, the media has resolutely ignored Bush's AWOL for 4 years - but miracles do happen! Our media list is here: http://democrats.com/media
2. Petition for a Bi-Partisan Presidential Recount Commission
As Election Day nears, both candidates are fielding armies of lawyers to wage legal warfare - in the same Republican-controlled courts that failed American Democracy in 2000.
Dozens of lawsuits have already been filed over pre-election issues like voter registration, provisional ballots, and electronic voting machines.
There must be a better way to resolve disputes over the election of the leader of the greatest Democracy in history.
We cannot endure another prolonged recount battle that results ANOTHER appointment of President by a partisan Republican Supreme Court.
We, the People, call for the immediate creation of a Bi-Partisan Presidential Recount Commission to resolve all disputes related to the election of the President of the United States in 2004 - IF the winner is in serious dispute when the polls close on Election Day.
Read the details and sign the petition!

Once again, thank you for all you do to promote democracy, justice, and truth.

I voted yesterday.
The dim county clerk here had one of the temporary voting places open a few blocks away in an upscale assisted living facility, so I thought I would get it done with early. (There was only a one hour window of opportunity in this mostly conservative neighborhood.)
BAD idea.
There were all these old folks in wheel chairs, walkers, canes, etc. who had forgotten to bring either their voter registration cards, or photo ID's, or their minds...one old lady wandered up and asked me, "What's everyone in line for?"
I then noticed that she was wearing a "I voted today" sticker on her blouse.
To expand on your bank idea, we should then vote directly with $$$...whoever gets the most from individuals, not companies or corporations, wins.
You have no $$$ to vote? Tough. You're part of the problem, and I'm tired of carrying your dead weight.
That seems crazy, it seems like MT would only elect conservatives. I remember when you could drive with an open container there - long after the rest of the country had banned that. But I heard a lot of Left Coast people, etc. are invading the Kalispell area, trying to take over and pushing their lib agenda.
Thank you for the interesting pings, and I will try to watch that debate on the 28th, sounds good.
Huh!
Who the heck is "Bob," and how do we know that he'll pay up?
There's another guy out there with a $50,000 reward for anyone who can prove that he fulfilled his AirNationalGuard obligation.
Come quickly, November third.
That is just friggin' SCARY.
Good morning. I was just telling someone at work yesterday how seven out of nine of ours "found us". The other two were only $35 each way back when. Our vet said cats choose who they will live with, and it does seem to have worked out that way with us. They peek in our back glass window and decide they can have a good life here :)
I'm sorry about your cat being sick...that is really rough.
ROTFL!!!
IS Bob nuts? The MSM has shown NO interest in the Bush AWOL story? Then why do I constantly see stories in my local paper about "new documents" being located? I just heard a few days ago on the radio top-of-the-hour update that the air national guard has found several "never before seen" pages of Bush's record. How about Dan Rather and memo-gate? NO INTEREST? What is Bob smoking? It's almost been an obsession with many of them. And, having heard about some "new documents" being discovered and released, we've heard NOTHING about their content. Could it be because there is NOTHING THERE?!!
Haven't there been people digging into this story since President Bush was running for Governor of Texas? Could it be that there is no there there? This is getting really old.
Yep - the voting experience was plenty frightening enough.
Does anyone here believe that it would be harsh to ask voters who is the current Speaker of the House, or the Vice President, or even the President?
Some of those folks that were voting yesterday, could not have had a cogent thought since Ike was in office.
I don't think it would be harsh to be prospective voters a few basic questions. We have too many people voting who don't have a clue about the structure of government, how it's SUPPOSED to work, what the Bill of Rights is, who is in office now.
I listen to Sean Hannity on occasion, and have heard a number of his "man on the street" interviews. Now, if that isn't terrifying, I don't know what is. A while back, he was asking people who is running for the Dems against the current president. "Um, er, uh,,,". Sean supplied the name. Joe Kerney. OH, sure of course. How about his running mate? Um, er, uh... Sean again helpfully supplied the name. Mr. Stu Ped (say that out loud). Oh, sure. Of course. Who are you voting for? Mr. Kerney. And do you know what his record is, and what has he done specifically that has you convinced that he's your guy? Um, er, well, Bush has just screwed things up so badly. Sean: OK, but what has Mr. Kerney done, or what values does he bring to the table? Um, er...Bush is terrible!
These people also didn't know who the current vice president is, or who their representatives are. No clue in the world. All they know is they are voting for whomever it is that is running against the guy in office now. Informed voters, fer sure.
Loddie, "voters" can't even be asked who they are without some lawyer suing the election folks for invasion of privacy.
Unbelievable what we've degenerated into, CP.
Gulf coast cheers down there.
Ooops...I completely forgot about your loathing for cities.
