The Bulldog & The Parrot

Mrs. Davidson's dishwasher quit working so she calls a repairman.

Since she has to go to work the next day, she tells him,"I'll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I'll mail you the check. Oh, by the way, don't worry about the bulldog, he won't bother you. But, whatever you do, do NOT, under ANY circumstances, talk to my parrot!"

When the repairman arrives at Mrs. Davidson's apartment the next day, he discovers the biggest and meanest bulldog he has ever seen.

But just as she said, the dog just lay there on the carpet watching the repairman go about his business. The parrot, however, drove him nuts the whole time with his incessant yelling, cursing, and name calling.

Finally the repairman couldn't contain himself any longer and yelled, "Shut up, you stupid ugly &n@b*s!#p; bird!"

To which the parrot replied,.......... "Get him, Spike!"

REDMOND, Wash. - A 17-year-old Redmond girl, who had been missing for over a week, was found alive Sunday in a car that had crashed down an embankment.

Laura Hatch had last been seen in downtown Redmond at 11 p.m. on Oct. 2.

A passerby called 911 after spotting a car down the embankment near 199th Ave. NE in unincorporated King County, just east of Redmond.

The King County Sheriff's Dept. said Hatch was alert and conscious, but dehydrated when she was found. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was listed in serious condition.

Mount St. Helens, in southwest Washington, vents steam Sunday. The volcano is sporting a new coat of snow after several days of blustery, wintery weather.

We're doing ok Westy, just getting our heads on straight about the move and what has to be done.

So far, I think we're driving down this time. We "acquired" a car, so we think we will drive it down to replace the older one there. Al's getting new glasses, thank goodness.;) I hope they help... help!

Starting to clean up the gardens, now that the frost has gotten them, and the leaves will be coming in full force soon. Have to get as many as we can before we leave. We'll still have plenty to deal with in the spring even so. That darned big oak is always the last to strip.

I guess we might get a good Nor-Easter tomorrow night. Forget the name but it's heading for us. That should help strip some leaves.

I was reading your post about 38? years of marriage. We are at 48 now, and counting, and I agree things are surely not like they used to be. Kind of gets you down sometimes, doesn't it?

Loddy, Westy once said that he didn't want a cat or dog because he lives alone and if he suddenly keeled over dead, the pet would starve. And then he mentioned that poor woman whose cats started eating her after she died.

I think the women set the moral and social standards of a society...And I don't see all that many ladies about these days...ergo, a shortage of gentlemen....Or am I just being a grumpy old phart????

Nope. You're dead on accurate. Women's "lib" and its ideology have laid waste to our culture. The consequences have been devastating.
