In fact, I don't even think I'll come out until the election is over. I couldn't even take watching Fox Tuesday night when they bent over backwards to talk about how well the millionaire absentee lawyer did. I was horrified by his juvenile pranks like the paper rattling/crumbling and how idiotically he kept mentioning lurch's name.

I half expected Edwards to stuff pencils up his nose and giggle like a highschool freshman.
I cringe to think that he could possibly be VP if massive vote fraud happens or somehow lurch & company convince enough people to vote for them.
Who needs a VP that's into sophmoric behavior?
*ugh!!*

LOL - you are so right. I feel like the adult in this situation even though all the candidates are older than me. And, yesterday, ketchup lady was chiding the Pres. Bush supporters in the crowd to behave (they weren't doing anything wrong, as per usual). I've noticed whenever people talk down to you like you are in kindergarten, it is they who are the puerile ones.

Nope.
*chuckle*
Didn't get video of him wiping out on a bicycle either.
Even though it would've won first place in America's Funniest Home Videos.

Geez, no doubt. How come society is accepting that his kind of behavior is normal? He's so NOT funny. How did he ever win any of his cases???? Seriously, he's not even in the least bit charming or attractive, unlike what the lib papers claim.

That.. would be my generation's fault.
Call it "The Jackass culture" effect if you want to.
It's an almost complete blindness to infantile behavior in leaders, prospective leaders, role models, news reporters, and authority figures.
Like John Kerry's cutting his press briefing short because a reporter caught him out there flip flopping in one sentence.
He got angry and stormed off.
Or Wesley Clark's "Don't questhtion my patwiotithm! I'll beath thu sheeth outtha you!" statement.

That would be my generation's fault, the Gen X'ers whom the media and entertainment are marketing to.
(Top 5 videos for my generation dealing with sports? All of them were skateboarding wipeout videos at one point.)

Wow, that is a good (though depressing) explanation! I used to be Gen-X but they changed the years so I am borderline Gen-X and "Baby Boomer" (ick, hate that term and it reminds me of hippies). I'm definitely more old-fashioned though.

I get told that I'm a dinosaur.. by people the same age as I.
My best friend said I was a museum piece, a throwback to another time.
All because I said that I was taught to hold doors open for ladies, bow slightly, remove hat, pull out chairs for ladies, and on the first date you present her with a rose, a pearl necklace, or both.
The above earned me the moniker 'old man'.
*scratches head*

I dunno, I was only 20 when I got saddled with it...

Yes, They seem to love to move the boundary fence of GenX-ers.
Last I knew, 1975 marked the las year of Gen-X births.
(Unless they change that too!)
And I was born in 1975, so in a way I am part of the last gasp of GenX.

Yes, it is somewhat depressing as an explanation, I agree.
But it was GenX thatbrought a Young Republican wave as well.
(We're also much more cynical than the Boomers.. Libs hate cynics since they usually tend to not care about ideology as much as stark reality.)

That is SO romantic!!! Sounds like out of a movie. That is the world I want to live in - with gentlemen like you. Speaking of, I love movies but can only take a few modern ones. The actresses I used to like have all turned Commie. My favorite old movies are Hitchcock or anything around that time ... especially Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman - now they were classy people. The President and First Lady remind me of them.

The wanna-be king and ketchup are more like out of "Dumb and Dumber".

I like that one too. If you looked in my video cabinet, 85% are pre-1970. I like some modern action/romantic movies like "Broken Arrow" and "The Saint". Wish people like Angie Harmon and Bruce Willis made more movies.

SALEM, ORE. - A Salem police officer was hospitalized after being assaulted by a nude man whom he was trying to take into custody.

Marion County Deputy Jim Herring was taken to Salem Hospital with injuries after the assault by 23-year-old Devon Poulsen, of Auburn, Wash., according to Deputy Kevin Rau, a spokesman for the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

According to police, Herring spotted Poulsen sitting naked on a Salem sidewalk on Thursday morning.

Herring called for more help, but Poulsen became violent, Rau said. Herring sprayed Poulsen with pepper spray, but Poulsen fought through it and struck the deputy several times in the face and head, police said.

Two more deputies eventually arrived and fired Poulsen with bean bags, then arrested him. Poulsen was also taken to Salem Hospital with minor injuries.

I hate it when this happens.
