It was a car expolsion close to the Lincoln tunnel he was waiting in the area in the car when it went off!
Now should his destiny had been the Lincoln tunnel it could have kill many people and disable an outlet!
One report said he ran into a building, another said he was seating in front of a home!
Go figure!

Mo, my BIL is okay. Things have settled down to normal danger in Nigeria. He is home now on his thirty day rotation. We'll see if he goes back. I'm betting he will. It's probably the same with the civilian expats in Iraq. The money is good and they rationalize that it could never happen to them.

Update: When John Kerry got his first marriage annulled, he told reporters annulment was “one of this special Catholic things.” “75 percent of all annulments in the world take place in the United States,” he joked. “I guess that figure drops to 50 percent if you take out all Massachusetts politicians.”
His first wife, Julia Thorne wasn’t amused. She said the annulment of the 14-year marriage to Kerry was “devoid of any sense of humanity of what it means to me and the children.”

Yes, I've read the reports about his 1st wife and their divorce .. all signs point to that he wasn't a very good "family man"
But that first site you posted is a looney left site
As for the annulment .. though there are some questions on when he got it .. annulments are not uncommon with divorced catholics ... My brother rec'd one from his 1st wife, who he had children with ..
The reason catholics get an annulment is so that if they remarry .. they can have that marriage recognized and blessed by the church
Without an annulment .. the church will not recognize a second marriage
