No extra coffee for me today, Darks. I think a little nap will work out just fine tho. ;)
Maybe I can nail him for a short weekender before we leave. Love it up there.
Last week when we went up to York, I could see the Cliff House in the distance. It's not far from us at all, and by highway, which I hate to take, is a just a short hop.
Who wants to travel by highway when you can go by all those winding seashore roads?
D'oh!
Yeah, you're not supposed to have too much caffiene, right?
*now I feel like a dork*
Oh I have all I want when I want it, but usually, at most, three cups a day. Don't take it when I know I need a nap..lol.
Yesterday, for the debates, I needed the full three..;)
I hope I haven't posted this yet. ;)
Thanks for the ping, Gran.
Beautiful picture. I needed that. :)
Hi Ringy, good to see you live.. lol. Did you survive the debates and late hours last night? I hope you're feeling well, and enjoying the fall weather.
Ouch.
OKers.
Absolutely gorgeous up there - I see why you travel the smaller roads.
Hey Sweetie!
I'm doing much better, thanks.
Dealing with some damage from hurricane Ivan. Groan, but all will be well, I think.
I wasn't allowed to watch the debates. The Powers that Be, in my life, thought it would upset me too much. I obeyed but snuck online to see what you guys thought. LOL.
I voted in some of the polls that the dems were rigging. Slept like a rock.
I hated to miss all the excitement online. I'd bet this place rocked last night. :)
Nothing like those coast roads if you live by them. It's a lot of mileage but well worth the sights. All the expensive homes are along there too..so that makes it even more interesting...
Those nooks and crannies take time tho.. Fluffy has to be slowed way down so I can study the sights and take pics, lol.
Spectacular Gran... love the red roofs and the flag flying proudly on a rugged American outpost.
That is beautiful and looks so peaceful.
Oh... well I watched it up in my bedroom all alone.. so I could groan and moan, yell and cheer in peace. I tried to follow the live thread, but it was way to distracting.
Glad to see you played a little mischief tho...;)
I wondered if you got any of that Ivan. Luckily, we went thru them all with no boo boos at all.
I love that spot Val, and it's well visited, believe me. Lots of fishing there too.
That lighthouse is a small island and the keepers have to get there by a little swinging trolley car. I wouldn't want to cross it in some wild winter weather. The small passage they have to cross can get really rough.
I am so glad. I worried about you and your place. It's so beautiful and you enjoy it so. I'm delighted it's okay.
The building inspectors say I've sustained "substantial damage" "over 50%." That's for the coast house. Here, at home, just lost roofing tiles and a few trees. None on the house. My yard looks like a storm hit it. :)
I'm not certain, yet, if I'll rebuild on the Coast. With things for me, as they are right now, it seems foolish. Still, I do love it there, even if I don't get to go very often. So, it's a turmoil for me to make a decision. Thank God I don't have to decide today. :)
I'm really leaning toward letting the lot return to Nature. Then, should my Heirs lean toward Coastal living, they'll have a spot to consider.
Oh what a shame that you lost so much of that house. Glad to hear that your main home escaped too much damage. Our condo on the beach survived it perfectly, but we had good storm shutters, but most of the island got a lot of damage.
Our house only lost one palm out front and thankfully it wasn't one of the Royals. Slight damage with the boat covers but they can be remade.
Since then we have sold the condo, so we only have the house to worry about now. All our friends came thru it unscathed as well, thank goodness.
Good idea to keep the land, it should sell really well pretty soon, if you even want to.
You were really blessed. I'm so glad.
Yes, I'll keep the land. Maybe, if my health continues to improve, I'll even rebuild and go enjoy it. :)
When do you leave for Florida or are you going this year?
I hope you improve daily, Ringy, and maybe you'll be hitting all those "soirées" often, and telling us all about them. Did I spell that right? lol.
We will probably go south the first of Nov. sometime. I'll let it cool off a little first. ;) I love the winter weather there.. sort of like fall here, with low humidity.
