Newbie Has Some Questions

I am fairly new to the site. I think I understand what Pinging is all about but have yet to figure out what a Bump is. Can someone explain? Any other site customs I should know about?

I've seen a lot about pajamas here.

The pajamas thing got started a few days ago with the dan rather memogate thing. One of the reporters said derisivly that the Freeper (Buck head) was in his bedroom in his pajamas when he essentially said "the emperor has no clothes" as to the credibility of the memos.

Buck head seemed to let that get a little under his skin, so it's turned into a twofer; making fun of a asinine childish reporter and poking a little fun at our resident celebrity FReeper.

I was reading along as you were trying to trying to teach him/her a little manners while politely kicking 'it' in the crotch. I was thinking it's just a matter of time.

BTW there was an awful Troll, 4 letter kind that threatened JR personally. I saw it and the next minute is was gone. Lordy, it was one of the worst things I have ever read on FR.
