Expert suggests Peterson bodies draped in random debris unrelated to murders
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. A forensic examiner suggested Tuesday that a length of plastic around the neck of Scott Peterson's son was unrelated to the fetus' murder, a blow to the defense claim that the plastic points to another perpetrator.
Peterson's lawyers had said the positioning of the plastic loop indicated assailants wrapped the 4-foot-long strand around the baby's neck after it was born alive. Laci Peterson was eight months pregnant when she vanished Dec. 24, 2002, and her husband was under near constant police surveillance after her disappearance.
Criminalist Pin Kyo of the California Department of Justice, however, seemed to lend credence to prosecutors' theory that the fetus the couple planned to name Conner was expelled from the mother's womb after Peterson dumped her in the San Francisco Bay and the plastic loop was only trash that washed over the baby's head as the body floated toward the bayshore.
Kyo, spending her second day on the stand as a prosecution witness, said the loop was "chemically similar" to plastic debris recovered near Laci Peterson's remains and noted that it was not tied tautly.
Story continues
It's such a famous work that when you see it's about the size of a sheet of legal paper, it's underwhelming.
Go to the Salvador Dali Museum in St Petersburg and you will see two story Dali paintings.
You will be overwhelmed.
I've been there twice.
Last time I went (1997 or 8), I was looking at the "Discovery of America" painting when the actor Donald Sutherland walked up next to me.
I was there a month ago. I have many of those paintings in my living room. ( not the originals, of course)
Beth K. reporting....
Per Cement expert
The pitcher was used for a coment mold just not the one that is left in evidence.
Bawaahahahahahahaha! Snort! Snort!
Now how did the expert know that it was used to mold cement? I know there was some water with cement residue, but how could he tell that it was used to mold something?
the concrete expert testified that the concrete around the back yard did NOT match the concrete he used for the anchors since there was no fly ash (additive) in it thus debunking another Geragross theory that Snott used it all around the house.
Beth Karas just reported that the concrete used at the Peterson house/yard/driveway does not match samples from anchor, shop, boat etc. Deflates Gearloose's contention that Scaught was always working with concrete at home and elsewhere.
Fly Ash for Concrete
ISG Resources is the undisputed leader in supplying fly ash to the concrete industry.
Derived from burning coal, fly ash is a valuable additive that makes concrete stronger, more durable and easier to work with.
Now how did the expert know that it was used to mold cement? I know there was some water with cement residue, but how could he tell that it was used to mold something?
My understanding of this is that the investigator painstakingly reconstructed the small pieces of concrete that was found and they fit together and formed a partial circle in the bottom of the pitcher, meaning THAT pitcher was used to make something, just not the anchor that was found. No doubt in my mind the "something is another anchor that is located at the bottom of the bay". Perhaps Scotty threw the wrong pitcher away.......hey, Scott, you know what they say, there's no perfect crime.
Well well, THIS leaves 85 pounds of cement to account for MR. PETERSON AND MR. GAGMEMOST!! In fact, this just might become a weight around Mr. Snotty's neck!! The TH's are saying this COULD BE THE PIECE that does it!!
Beth Karas just stated that the concrete in the driveway DOES NOT MATCH!!. SURPRISE< SURPRISE!
How did we KNOW this would happen pies????? We must be so smart!! LOL
I just knew that would be the testimony - but I'm elated to hear it. I knew the pros had things we never heard about. Of course they didn't go blabbering to the media all the time either (even before the gag order).
Maybe it had something to do with "circumstancial evidence".
ah oh.... heard some hot stuff on Nancy Grace's RapidFire radio hour, but missed some info... Gads, this could be something... Kind of think of it, 80 lbs of missing cement mix is not much... patch work, posts, or cracks, but not alot of driveway fixes.....
Hi, runningbear, I found this site today looking for a good source on Laci Peterson. This is great. Do you collect all the news on the case everyday? How can I find it? Does it always have Peterson in?
I find it by putting runningbear in the search of posters every morning. Runningbear does a great job.
