Interesting ZOT
Posted on 09/14/2004 2:57:01 PM PDT by amercian god
Is this correct? The last time two different men served consecutive 8 year year terms to their completion was 1825. Madison 1809-1817 and Monroe 1817-1825.

Wrong.
Clinton was impeached.
He would have been removed from office if we had a Congress with nads. I digress.
Saying he served two terms is stretching it. He served one, and Congress flaked on throwing him out on the other.

back to back. for instance if bush wins, and completes his term it would be the first time two different men completed 8 year terms since 1825 clinton/bush.

America is definately on the right track then, that for we shall have the Bush Doctrine to lead the way on our Foreign Policy in this century... Just like the Monroe Doctrine did before us... I love it History does repeat itself... Welcome to Liberty's Century.
