I'm in NJ and it seems I will have to homeschool my youngest for Kindergarten. How do I get started? What do I need to know? I went surfing for homeschooling resources for New Jersey and I only came across a lot of advertisements for selling materials.
Any help from the homeschool pros would be welcomed.

The absolute first thing you need to do is to purchase Bill Bennett's book, The Educated Child, and read it carefully.
The best advice I can give is to be adaptable. If something doesn't work for you, trash it --or sell it--and try something different. There is not a "best" course out there, only the one that is "best" for you and works for you.
Ok, just found the ebook version at ereader.com
Downloading it now.
Thank you.
Any advice as to what policy or procedures I need to be aware of?
Example
Can he enter 1st Grade if he wants to next September? Will any school accept him?
That I agree with. Thank you.
Try this. A lot of families who travel for long periods of time use this to school their kids. I hope to do this in a couple of years.

WOW! EXCELLENT site. I see multiple answers to my questions there.
Thank you.
Bump!
Calpernia,
Have you joined a NJ homeschool email loop or forum yet? If not, feel free to freepmail me and I will send you some links to several NJ yahoo groups. There, you will receive information and support, and then you can also meet other homeschoolers as well as keep up-to-date on legal issues.
P.S. (I am not on the internet everyday, so it may take a few days for me to reply).

I would love that. I did speak at one time to (oh shoot), I'm checking my emails now and don't see his name :(
There was a gentleman that responded to me once. I seem to have lost his email.

Specifically I am looking for help in creating a lesson plan(NO idea how to do this) and in using a program called : "HomeSchool Easy Records" version 2.oc Data Plus Solutions. Anyone out there familiar with this program?
I also would be interested in a journaling method instead of a traditional lesson plan format.
Any and all help would be welcome. Thank you for your time and God Bless.
