I'm not crazy, all of my neighbors were coming out into the street to see what was going on.

I just heard one about 10 or 15 minutes ago, over Lee's Summit.

It's actually Kerry's campaign plane...looking for a friendly crowd.

That's where I'm at, but it was north of me.

But it was only once.
It's pretty rare to hear a jet low over Lee's Summit.
We've got a General Aviation airport, so I'll occassionally hear a single engine prop plane, but very rarely a jet, and I don't ever remember hearing one this low before.

My house is less than a mile from the Lee's Summit High School where Bush will be tomorrow morning.
Sounded like a B-2 hitting full throttle while doing the curvy part of an S-curve. I think he flew straight and level right over the high school football stadium, and continued doing another pass or two, working his way north.
Whiteman AFB is about 50 miles east of here.

I've been to airshows where B-2's have flown-this reminded me of an F-4 with it's afterburners on.
I'm just trying to keep up the FR tradition of reactionary posting. :-)

Why are UFOs always spotted by regular folk in Kansas or Missouri? ;-)

Guess he needs to bear North a bit. St. Joseph cemetaries are full of 'Kerry friendlies'.

When I used to live in Dodge City KS we used to have low flybys of b1's and b2's all of the time, from McConnel AFB. I remember one time they were so low that it was incredibly hard to even stand.

Dunno...it sounded a lot like a flyover last year a B-2 did at a Chiefs game at Arrowhead. He came right over my house, then hit the jets about a mile north of me. He was LOUD.
Would be weird to do a flyover at night, though. I think I'll take a trip to pick up some beer and see if they've got that stadium lights on.

We live very near the airport in St. Louis. Generally, at least once a month, we get to see the Missouri Air Guard come out and do various drills, touch-and-go landings, etc., and, believe me, the noise is significant. Folks at the house tend to freak out from it, but we're so used to it we don't notice it most of the time. :-)
