Barnes and Nobel Still hiding UNFIT TO COMMAND
September 6, 2004

Posted on 09/06/2004 4:31:34 PM PDT by AmericanMade1776

Just got back from Barnes and Nobel, went to the Bestsellers Nonfiction area, and could not find UNFIT FOR COMMAND books in there place of honor...number one best seller spot. Only a sign that showed the book should of been placed in that spot. Was tiffed! Asked Information at Barnes and Nobel , if they had the book, she looked and said there were 11 copies still somewhere in the book store. About seven or eight were put on hold behind the counter for potential buyers. I placed an order for the book, and she seemed to think it was because they were not being printed fast enough and selling too fast. She was not even sure if they were reordering the book.

Does anyone know what is going on with the printing of UNFIT TO COMMAND? And what is going on with Bans and IgnoreS(BARNES AND NOBEL)?

I got 2 copies at Borders last week.

Anybody reading the book will not vote for Kerry.

I ordered my copy over 2 weeks ago from the local B&N. My orders are usually filled within 2-4 days. Not a word as yet. I finally got one from FReeper Brad's Gramma. I think it may have been the last of a bunch she bought. I won't ever buy anything from B&N again.

For what it's worth here is a post of my experience in tracking down my copy of "Unfit for Command".

Got my copy days ago, from
Barnes & Noble Online. Shipped in
5 bus. days, UPS, no problem.

That was before B & N announced
it sold out & they awaited more
copies from Regnery.

Can't say how it works NOW...

I had a similar experience with our local book store so decided to shop 'out of town'. Went to amazon.com for the first time and had the book arrived within 10 days. Was reluctant to use my credit card but threw caution to the wind on this matter

The book is absolutely incredible! I was there, albeit several months after Kerry. I can not find fault with any of it. Just the opposite. It is extremely well done. It is hard to imagine that one could lay it down before getting at least 3/4 through it. The last half is slower and I lost interest in the details. The conspiracy crowd will love those details.

Buff

P.S. I have made a generous contribution the the Swift boat Vets for Truth group. When it is all said and done, history is likely to record that they made the difference

Ordered my copy last week from B&N website and it's due here tomorrow according to UPS. I was going to order it from Amazon but at the time they said it'd be available 'in 1-3 weeks'. I see now that it's 'available within 24hrs' while the B&N website says it's 'available within 2-3 days'

Add a surtax to the cost of sending new books. Give bookstores an advantage.

Forget B&N....do a Google for Regnery and order direct from them. It's probably cheaper that way too.

I had a guy working at a Barnes and Nobel here in Cincinnati tell me the same thing about availability. Apparently the printers never expected this type of response.

The book chain is pro Kerry...but they would love the sales. More money for them to donate to the Boston flip flop master.

It's not being hidden here in Lincoln. It's on the rack, at number 1 on the NY Times bestseller list shelf.

Yes, publishers pay B&N and other bookstores for the front of store displays, much like supermarkets collect slotting fees. However, if the store has a Bestseller rack, then the book should be in there.

I appreciate all your replies, I guess my biggest disappointment was not seeing the book in it's rightful place at Barnes and Noble. Has anyone else seen it in the number one spot of bestseller NON fiction at Barnes and Noble? I think they are hiding the cover of the book.

Just did that google search. It's the same price. A good option for those who are scared by the 'I haven't gotten mine yet and it's been weeks' horror stories *s*

Absolutely, the Unfit to Command, should of been in the spot...huge disappointment not to see the cover at the bookstore, especially since it is number one in non fiction bestsellers.
