I Don't Know Who To Vote For!

Posted on 09/03/2004 5:39:27 PM PDT by IndieKid

Hey, as you can probably tell im new here. I am 18, not sure who to vote for, and in need of some help. I will partly base my vote on what both Kerry and Bush will do in the future. Not based on anything else. Not Swift Boats, not Senate Records, not the economy. The past is the past. A true leader leads the country to the future, not dwell on the past, like both Republicans and Democrats have done recently. What are Bush's plans for the future, in concrete examples? Not just "Fight War on Terror!" Are there any good sites?

So you what to know who promises the most not who has a history of delivering on his promises.

read Bush's speech and Kerry's response.

If you vote like history started yesterday, you'll be swayed by the last person talking to you.

What kind of fool would not use someone's voting record as a way of predicting future behavior?

"I know Charles Mansion has killed several people in his life and has promised to kill again. But I want to judge him on what he is going to do in the future, not his on his past behavior."

How do you know that someone's promises for the future
are what they will actually do?

Their past is an indicator, particularly if the sweet
nothings in your ear are inconsistent with that history.

You want to know what these men will do in the future?

Character is Fate, my friend. Look to what they've done to see what they'll do.

Bush is a proven leader. What's Kerry done in the past 20 years as a Senator...?

If 20 years of Senate voting record doesn't give you an idea of what Kerry will do in the future, I am at a lost to explain anything to you. Kerry is an anti-military social liberal wimp, and Bush is a tax-cutting strong military social conservative. It is really not all that hard to distinguish the difference views the two have for the future.

Thanks! The link was a great help. I see that not everybody here is a nice as you. I said I will partly base my decision on this. Not wholly. I am just tired of hearing all this back and forth mud slinging. I have heard months worth of both candidates history, but very little on the future. Calm down, I mean no harm.

You are welcome.

Nevermind them, we have has a lot of disruptor types lately, so sadly everyone is on high alert. Plus whacking actual trolls is fun, but sometimes we are quick on the trigger.

I know generalities of what they will do. Bush did a good job in his speech, saying what he plans to do and checking out his site was pretty helpful. I know their views but not their plans all too well. I am not a political buff like you guys are.

The choice is clear. Use your head and think it through.

Kerry stated: "I'm an internationalist," Kerry told The Crimson in 1970. "I'd like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations."

...when it comes to our security, we really don't need anybody's permission.

Contrast that to President Bush: America will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of our people.

Do you want your little brother or sister to go to school one day in the next couple years under this condition?

And also, remember 9-11 and what President Bush faced after only 8 months in office.
