Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Lemme think... where've I been? Not today, that's for sure... did I actually post over at the Religious Forum yesterday or was that part of this hazy dream?

Was it yesterday? I just saw the thread today.
I'm in extra-lurking mode over there for a while. All on my own, I might add.

Gah...my watch is apparently on its last legs. *snif* I just mail ordered one since I couldn't bring myself to spend $40 for a watch at the store...
On the bright side, my snowshoes are here! Hooray!!!
Of course...it'll be months before I can use them. But I got a vey good deal!
And now I have half an hour to sort of straighten up for music night, try to read a chapter of my book for class, eat something so my stomach isn't growling audibly, and take care of the dogs. Gotta run...literally...

Okay. Gotta go.
Weather goober just said we should expect 1-4 inches of rain from what is left of Frances. Last week they predicted 2-3 inches from Gaston. We got 14...
I'm thinkin' I should a bought a boat.
See y'all later.

Auditing, I guess. Sitting in on it, that is.
But I'm planning to test for Network+ certification at the end...so I do have to pay attention! Especially since my boss said they'd pay for the test IF I passed it...otherwise I don't get reimbursed...

SuziQ; some pics on the Day in the Life thread, and Missouri Topics. Not mine but great.
Corin; that would have been a great idea but the presentation could have been 'vey' interesting. Still, you got me thinking, could we send him one?
300WM, do you think the engraver's could add a name?
Hair; it's been many years since we had the opportunity to go to one, this one was right here in 'town' fairy long 'Gypsy girl' walk distance. Couldn't not go, once we secured the tickets.
I emailed my cohort at work, he emailed back that he heard about on the news driving in and my empty cubicle didn't surprise him in the least.
2jm: got to get the film put to a CD and then commence figuring and computerizing stuff, I'm a bit of a luddite with this.
G'nad, only a couple of uniformed servicemen were there, but they were your guys. A number of the Farmers and Ranchers for Bush signs and hats were there, start looking for them in your neck of the woods soon. Colors kinda like the other tractor company, you know, yellow and green.

Get a load of this, will ya??? Matthew doesn't have any curriculum work for handwriting...he just has to watch the Homesat tape and glean what info he can from it. He has to write down one thing that he learned from the lesson, after watching the tape. This is what he wrote for today. I could not believe that A! He did this with a regular #2 pencil! I scanned it.

Well, now they're announcing that we've hit 1,000 U.S. deaths in Iraq. Speculation is that at CNN and DU they're popping the champagne corks... Does congress go back in session Friday? If so, someone will present articles of impeachment in the House. They've been waiting for that "magic number" for some time. While nothing will come of it, expect weeks of phony hype.
I hope they're so busy with mindless hate that they don't browbeat enough pubbies to re-pass that "assault weapon" ban. Why should gun laws be treated as part of the Brezhnev Doctrine?

That is excellent! A little more practice, he'll have a fine set of handwriting!
Too bad, tho...that does disqualify him from med school :)
I wonder if there's a MS Word font that uses that kind of "A".
