The Hobbit Hole XV - Pass them by! Pass them by!
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Pass them by! Pass them by!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I think they'll all be fine by morning. After breakfast, we are going to open all the gates.

Nope, I'll do an outline this time, and at least start off with a clear idea of my destination.

That'll probably last until the second page, but, hey, it's a beginning ...!

I've got a clear idea of my start. Vague clue about my middle. Not sure about the ending - depends on whether Characters A and B are the same person or not. I should probably figure it out.

I'm reading work email. Why I do this on a day off, I don't know. But I'm plotting ways to stress out my new, openly incompetent, team leader. She's actually called a face-to-face team meeting tomorrow. This means she's going to have to come out of her office and talk to people. Pop the popcorn... this'll be fun. ;)

Good morning! Happy Monday!

Went for a nice walk along "my" road this morning, down by the river. It was still pretty dark when I started out, and the sun was almost up when I came back, so I got to see dawn, as much as you can around here without being high up. The colors were reflecting on the river along with the leaves, and it was just lovely. Have I mentioned that I love this time of year?

Chilly, though - it was 34 out there when I got back. Didn't feel that way once I got going, though. If I hadn't been able to see my breath, I would have thought it was in the 50s. Feels good when you're moving!

However, walking in cold weather and then coming back and taking a hot shower is very relaxing. Tooooo relaxing! So much for waking up! I'm rather sleepy now. ~sip~ Workin' on that.

Nice pictures! Hope they all work things out. I'm thinkin' it's not all THAT much different than introducing any other animals to one another. Took the cats awhile to adjust when Cleo (the old Siamese) came on board...but now Tam likes her and she and Halvah have worked out a grudging truce - mostly they just avoid one another. It's Halvah's fault. She's a perpetual...um...grouch.

good mornin,
We have been having one heck of a lightshow... Complete with sound effects.

seriesly, elf-boy was terrified of the lightning until we told him it was just G-d's flashlight.

Gotta go for now. Time for school

Heh...my Mom used to tell us it was the angels bowling. ;-) The lightning didn't bother us as much as the thunder, I guess!

Haven't seen XXX, though I like Vin Diesel. I'll have to get it from Netflix.

No major mini-dramas that I know about! It was a nice quiet weekend here, here being both my location and in the Hobbit Hole. ;-)

I just averted a mini-drama, though! I get to pay home insurance monthly instead of goin' to jail for not being able to pay hundreds of dollars at once. ;-) Phew! That's a load off my mind...

Might have meant more FReeping time, though...

Do they have high speed internet access in jail now?

Hm...

Hmmm... I wonder... have sometimes considered the insane asylum but not jail...

Morning. I'm still tired. But at least it's sunny today.
