Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

In my dream, my family was being blackmailed into taking a trip to Russia and I didn't have a passport. The last part is true and obviously worrying to my subconscious... hmm...
Good morning! Payday! Or rather, last night was. I now have money again.
Ugh, and the scale is up three pounds and I've been dieting right too. I'm taking the weekend off and having pizza if I want.

Last I checked I was up, too.
Scales are evil.
Good morning!

I drive past many of the places in the pictures every day. I've been here almost all my life, but I'm still amazed every fall!

Can I go home after two?
*sigh* We have practice tonight for a gig on Sunday, and I just DON'T feel like practicing or going to the jam or playing a gig or anything. Granted, I should get twenty dollars or so of play money from the gig, which is nice...I see that as money I can spend on fun stuff or things I don't HAVE to have. I'll probably use it for gloves and books. Except...I have to buy birthday presents for a brother. So maybe not.

Beautiful pics, Rosie! Fall has started here too, but our forest is 90%+ evergreen, so there isn't much color to photograph.
Someday (once I get a better digital camera) I would like to take Hair to see Vermont in the fall. And northern Minnesota.

If I ever finish flyladying, y'all are welcome to stop by my place! ;-) It's not big, but it DOES have a roof...
This year there seem to be an extra abundance of reds and purples. Some years there are more yellows...that's pretty too, but I love the colors we have this year!
I'm going to see if I can con my brother into letting me use his camera this weekend. He guards it jealously, but rarely uses it. Wish I had something he'd trade for it...

Good mornin all!! God bless you Rosie...I have a mother who waxes and wanes about the housework herself, and she just laughs about it. I always figure if I can keep the kitchen in good shape, the rest of the house can just take care of itself.
I tried the flylady thing...it FLOODED my email with so much stuff I didnt knwo where to begin!!
Speaking of which, I have parents coming today...it's Mom's Bday and I am trying to get things together for a picnic lunch. Will check in later!!

This brother isn't really that into anime. I have no idea what to get him! Probably something edible, I guess.

So that ranch is closer to your work? It's cute; kind of like a blank canvas in the front. There's a LOT you can do, pretty inexpensively to dress it up. I like those hardwood floors in the LR, and that back yard is GREAT! You could have a nice garden at the back, and it looks like it would still be sunny!
Is there a patio or anything on the back? How about a basement?

I tried the flylady thing...it FLOODED my email with so much stuff I didnt knwo where to begin!! I've never signed up for the mailing list...just used some of the pointers on the website. There's a lot there!
I'd like to get her book someday...but I don't have a good track record on using such things. SOMEwhere I have a copy of Sidetracked Home Executives (not as good as flylady for me, I don't think, mostly 'cause it's aimed at stay-at-home moms and has a lot of "get the kids involved stuff). But I have no idea where I put it...

No one would pay attention. Rose was in the dining room on the phone, and she kept motioning for us to keep the noise down so she could hear her conversation. All the rest of you were just doing your own thing and so 2J and I ran around closing all the windows, and of course, because it was a dream, there were at least a thousand windows and doors and they were ALL open. I'm sorry, did you say anything? And if you did, could you keep it down please?
