Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Bush looked uncomfortable... unlike the debates against Algore... his worst debate to date IMHO...
Kerry was the pompous horse's @$$ (no offense hair and ecurbh, and congrats, she's a beauty), arrogant deceptive twit... I could tell you how I really feel, but I'd offend the ladies...
I don't think this helped the POTUS, but I don't think ir hurt...
now excuse me... I have to drink muhself into a stupor...

I didn't watch it either, watching actual live Democrats on TV is almost more than I can stomach, even worse than watching the left wing news media.

Yeah... I wanted a happy evening. The anime club is the place in real life where the side of me that comes out here sometimes - the one that doesn't mind being silly - can have fun. Since I don't even get tv channels, I wasn't going to give up my fun to listen to Kerry blathering.

Matthew put "Action or a state of being." I think his answer is more complete. Think of the verb "to be"; that is not a action, yet is IS a verb.
Good for him!

I ended up not even watching the debates. I almost went on to bed just as they were coming on because I was tired from not sleeping long enough last night then driving back down to Providence this morning for my Aunt's funeral. However, SSQ's brother called and we talked politics and stuff for two hours! I just got off the phone with him about 15 minutes ago, and now I AM going to bed!
Happy Friday to the east coast Hobbit Hole gang!

Not sure why she's so skinny. Check her eating habits. Aki is a very "enthusiatic" eater, and is always so anxious to get at his grain that he flings away more grain out of his feeder than he eats. He also paws at the air with his right front leg while trying to inhale all the food instantly.
Marl got a "feed ring" that fits on the feeder, and closes the opening so he can just barely get his muzzle in. It also redirects any flung grain back into the feeder.
Aki was sorta skinny until she put the ring in his feeder. She said it was the best investment she ever made. Put 100 pounds of muscle on him for $7. It's slowed down his feeding and kept the grain in the feeder for him to eat all of it.
Just something you might want to watch for.

He'd sell his soul to the devil for a snack.
Good morning!

Good morning! HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!
I get to pick my mom up at the airport for a short, weekend visit. Should be nice. As usual we've planned waaaay more than we can accomplish: A trip to the eastern shore, a trip to Longwood Gardens, a movie, a birthday celebration (for mom), a shoppin' trip, helping with my brother's resume/cover letters, and painting the dining room.

Heh. Maybe it was the prospect of traipsing up and down stairs just to do laundry that got to me but a basement became less important.

Morning!
Can't we just call it a day and not go in at all?
To: Overtaxed
Certainly! I give you permission.
I had a really crummy day yesterday and I'm sooooo happy to have today off.

I'm putting in a bid for that house today. Dunno exactly what's going on at work today...one of those R&D kind of days.
