Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Ugh. I'm watching FOXnews. Edwards is going on bashing Bush, but I really wish he'd study some diction. He's meaning to say, "Bush was asked" only he's not saying the "k."
For some reason, that really bugs me.

Shall we either live thread or chat view the debate?
Doubtless there will be a FR-wide live thread...perhaps 8 or 9 of them...but the last one of those I was on (W's Convo speech) was overcrowded, unwieldy and annoying. For me, anyway.
To: Rose in RoseBear
You send a message from one processor to another and the important part of the message is a pointer to the location of, say, a double or a character array or something. It's kinda confusing, not that it's hard programming but C, I have so little experience. Plus, to compile the file, I have to mail it to my college account, ssh in, run a bunch of stupid commands, and interpret the useless error messages.

Hey there... just saw the second episode of Lost on ABC. Afterwards, they announced that the first two episodes will be re-broadcast back-to-back Saturday night, 8E/7C pm, if you want to watch for it!
To: ExGeeEye
I'd love to actually go to the debate, seeing that it's less than a half hour from my house...but no tickets are available.
Folks are going bananas trying to get their hands on a seat and there just aren't any to get. :-(
But I'll be here tomorrow night to chit chat, which in some ways is better. I wouldn't be allowed to yell at Kerry if I were actually there.

Question: does the computer shut off normally (shutting down, not restarting) if the USB card is not in the system?
To: ExGeeEye
Well, as you probably know, the m/b is a Gigabyte. Good board.
Does the card have any jumpers on it?
To: RMDupree
Yes, very intriguing! The girl's secret surprised both Rose and me!
I have no idea about the, uh, animal. And what power supply is keeping that message repeating over and over for so long?
Definately going to have to watch more!
To: RMDupree
Check out this pic of the pony....

Back from house hunting! Okay. So I had dinner before checking in. I've got my eye on
this one...I like the yard and it's harder finding a yard I like than it is finding a house.
To: Rose in RoseBear
I've been looking at it...everything seems to be thoroughly soldered in place. I had been looking for some little switch or other.
I also tried using all of the expansion slots, each in its turn. All of them have the same effect. Maybe there's a jumper or switch on the m/b?

And the teaser for next week's episode looks promising too!
Even Becky and my nephew Daniel were captivated by the show. :-D
Do you know how long this mini-series will last or is the network keeping mum?
