The Hobbit Hole XV - Pass them by! Pass them by!
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Pass them by! Pass them by!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Mornin'

Runnin' late here. Hadta go by thedentist office to sign some paperwork. They wuz impressed with how much I got fer the kidney. Seriesly tho, the good news is that I had the amount wrong. Gonna cost me about 2 hunnert less than I had planned. That's a vey good thing. And, this thing is so annoying now I'm kinda lookin' forward to Monday...almost like Christmas.

"Illegitimi non carborundum" - hadta write that one down.

Rosie - ask your mortgage company why you couldn't have an escrow account for your insurance like you do for your taxes. If they balk, tell 'em you'll have to think about refinancing.

In Other News...

Character in Book-on-tape: "I can't believe anybody would be so damn stupid."

Luke: "Mommy, they said stupid on the radio."

hehehe!

We were watching Wayne's World the other day and i told the boys to just ignore the bad language...Joshua said "I don't hear any bad language!"

It's just a matter of time now before he blurts something out in Sunday school...

ROTFL at Luke.... Did you point out the 'other' curse word in the sentence?

Are you kidding? Pointing them out just makes kids think they're fun to say...

My friend Bob can't tell a story without cussing.... and their daughter Jesse hit her head one day and said "Ow! Sh....!" Kay just yelled to Bob that he was going to be the one to go to the school with her and explain her mouth.

That might be worth checking into. Except...the mortgage company is a pain in the...err...neck to deal with. Much more so than the insurance folks, who are vey nice for the most part. I'll wait and see what kinda rate they can get me before I make any firm decisions...

Laughin' at Luke - too funny!

hehehe!!

The only "scandalous" word the jedis say is "butt". Steve told them once that if the guy at the Albertson's meat dept was rude to me again, he was gonna go around the counter and kick his butt. Well, now, every now and then, one of the boys will say something along those lines and everyone will feign being absolutely scandalized at the word!

It's an act, but it's kinda funny...

Heh, those labels were a present from family friends. Kinda neat. Glad the cookies came.

Ugh, I went to bed at 12:15, which was too late but I had to get my program sort of working, and could not sleep. It was past 1:30 before I got any sleep at all. I'm so tired...

To: RosieCotton; All

Later folks. Gotta get some work done.

It's a beautiful day outside. Wish I could go home and work in the yard.

I need more "annual leaf."

(thank you, thank you, we're here all week)

Ah... yes... nice memories. Glad you enjoyed it. I love that song - can sing most of it.

Did anything else in particular stand out?

I have lots to do at home, too! I still haven't planted bulbs. And I need to pull the old plants out of the garden before the frost turns 'em to slime...

Luke: "Mommy, they said stupid on the radio."

LOL!! Hilarious that he didn't notice 'damn', but DID notice 'stupid'.

When the kids were at Catholic school, the principal told me one day that one of the kids came up to her and told her that she heard a little boy say the 'S' swear. Turns out, the kid had called someone stupid.

Did it have a string of weird characters for a name, or did it have the refrain "Let's stay together, itsumo"? The first is just a song, the second is the opening song. They're both very pretty.

There's a song from the Escaflowne movie included - "Yubiwa". I think it's nice. Even if the movie was strange.
