Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

We need to figure a simple but cool design for the henna tattoos, so the artist doesn't run away screaming. ;-)
And as far as those questionable purchases go, if after a week they haven't really grown on you, you can always use E-Bay!

when did the second helicopter fly over?Well, I'm not sure. I found a couple of possibilities though, one here and the other here.
Let me know if neither one was right, and I'll keep looking!

I don't drink that much. Hah!
Anyway...I'd hate to wake up with a steenkin' tattoo and an evil toaster.
To: RMDupree
Well, they were pretty cheap, which is how I justified buying them. All of the expensive stuff, I love. And the pencil boards are semi-useless but I really love them (grin). I think I'll use them in class.
And now, next Entmoot, we could always watch "Escaflowne" and have the subtitles work properly... you probably don't remember, but we were watching that series and halfway through the subtitles started not showing up all the time. Which made it really hard to watch the show.

Hi Bear!
Cons are super-cool! I found out about an SF con in October that I'll probably have to go to because Connie Willis is going to be there...

IMHO, it's always better to share a space when you can to save cash.
That said, the main thing about rooming with anybody is personalities. If there is any little thing about your cousin that bothers you, be prepared for it to become the trigger for larger arguments in the future.
This happened with me and my sister when we shared a townhouse for a while. Her sloppiness drove me nuts and I found myself washing her dishes, doing her laundry and cleaning up after her get-togethers too many times to count.
If you're both comfortable with each other and have a healthy respect for each other's privacy, then I say go for it!
Try it for a 6 month lease lease and at the very worst, you've had some time to live in a nice 2 bedroom place for a while.

I really hope I can make it!
Good afternoon! I'm back! Just finished watched Anne of Avonlea out at the house, it's a beautiful fall day, and I'm feeling appropriately poetic, nostalgic, and slightly starry-eyed.

Afternoon!
Glad you had fun! Spending more than you planned at a con is not unusual. ;)
I'll probably have to go to because Connie Willis is going to be there
Get a hard-cover copy of your favorite book by her, take it with you, and get her to autograph it!

Is there such a thing as "toasterbane"?
To: JenB
Eagles Up is "Sorni Amu" in Elvish.
If we could get the symbols drawn up correctly, it would be a cool way to distinguish ourselves as FReeper HHDers.
