The Hobbit Hole XV - Pass them by! Pass them by!
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Pass them by! Pass them by!

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Sounds like fun stuff. I guess you're realizing that when the kids are homeschooled, they are many times NOT at home! Some friends of mine and I like to answer the 'concerns' of people about homeschooled kids and socializing with, "Yes, our kids have a real problem with socialization; there's too darn MUCH of it"!

I have Latina Christiana! I had gotten the other Latin books, from Canon Press, but didn't realize that it used the Classical rather than the Ecclesiastical pronunciation. I'm more used the Ecclesiatical because that's what we used to use at Mass, and how Latin hyms are still sung.

You wouldn't happen to have the flash cards and CD? I'd return 'em when I was done!

Just like a violin only... harder. One of these days I will take up violin again but I have to get mine back from Mom&Dad first. Oh well, I have to many hobbies anyway.

Sounds like a great co-op! The one I went to, those memories are still precious to me. Hope your kids have fun.

One can NEVER have too many hobbies.

Or at least...I'm gonna test that theory to the max...

Violin and fiddle are just different techniques (and then again, Itzak Perlman calls his instrument "fiddle)...I think any style on the instrument is tough. And it's tougher when I have a brother who is absolutely incredible. No chance of my ever catching up to him.

(Missouri synod, naturally)

Oh.... you mean the ones that are impossible to be around? ;~D

Just kidding, really I am hardly Lutheran enough to know the difference.

LOL The Missouri synod is very conservative. My husband's family is Evangelical...very liberal.

Gah... I think I'm allergic to something. I itch everywhere and my eyes are watery and sore.

Well, there's suddenly a good chance I'm going to take a small vacation out of state. Nearly packed.

I don't blame you! Holy cow that thing is HUGH!

Does it look like it'll hit very nearby? I'm still shaky on Florida geography.

Like I said earlier...though I don't wish any harm to Cuba, I still can't help hoping the storm is weakened by passing over it.

Well, the present track brings it very close, Miami is well within the range of possibilities.

I think the odds are still against it, but it's getting too close for comfort. You always have to think they are not going to hit, but in this case, I truthfully don't want to wait around and see what happens, having been in 3 before, including the north eyewall of Andrew in 1992.

They keep changing the projections, first it's not coming close, next it's coming very close, then sort of close, it all makes me think the TPC is having problems figuring it out.

Regarding Florida geography, the penninsula itself is very narrow, so anything projected to come anywhere near south Florida is basically projected to come near the entire southern area.

Best to you. Whatever you end up doing, try to keep us up to date. I hope it doesn't come at you but you're smart to be getting ready to leave already.

Are Ruthy or ksen at risk for this one?

I think the bottom line is...if Ivan hits at anything NEAR its current speed, nowhere in Florida is truly safe.

But isn't Ruthy closest to where it's supposed to make landfall? *biting nails*

We watched FMA #47 last night. Did it this one look a lot clearer and brighter than the last few? Well, actually since ANBU stopped doing the subs?

We've had, what, two episodes now with no Mustang?

Things are rapidly coming to a head!

I think that's my cue to bug you for more, Jen...

Or...I might be able to download it myself, if I knew how and where. I've not tried. Obviously it'd take a long time, but from home...maybe I could?

The latest track has it making landfall well away from Ruthy and Sam.

You need a bit torrent downloader and then you can go to suprnova.org search on anime and then choose FMA. That should get you to the episodes available for download. They are about 175MB on average.

It takes me about 2 hours on DSL.
