Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I pulled some fish out of the freezerWhat kind of bait do you use for that?
Some ideas:
Strip some lamp wires and attempt to revive them.
Repeat the experiment using a 3-way lamp.
Build Forbidden Pool and see if he shows up. Warning: he may sing.
Put 'em at the foot of the bed, on hubby's side, of course. Say nothing. Act natural. Bring a camera.
Breading and tartar sauce, duh.
If they still have nice shiny scales, hang 'em to dry and make Christmas ornaments.
That's about it. No, I don't have Martha Stewart's cell-phone number. Cell. Phone. Get it?

Badda bing!
I just baked 'em. I'll have half of it with squeezed lemon and the other half for lunch tomorrow as "fish with marinara sauce". Hope it's good. :)

During Entmoot 2009, celebrating President [insert favorite R here]'s signing of the Second Amendment Restoration Act and the repeal of the 16th Amendment, someone will say "Hey, remember when Hair and ecurbh's wedding seaplane ran out of gas and hit a bush? Everybody was stuned!"*
*Oh yes...by then "stuned" will appear in dictionaries, and "muslim" won't (except as a synonym for "dead").

And Hair will roll her eyes and say, "no, that's not the way it went at all!" and Bear would look it up!

Oh please, oh please. The originals? I mean the
Original originals? Gave mine away like a dummy, after the late 90's do-overs came out...
I'd like to make a restored version, with some of the improved space shots, but removing the update referenced above and the "Greedo fired first" foolishness. And some other aesthetically offensive bits.

These have an interview with George Lucas at the beginning of each one...bought them as a set. Leonard Maltin is doing the interview.
Then it starts the movies.

Bugger...sounds like the ones I kept. Do exploding things (Alderaan, Death Stars) have expanding Saturn-like rings?

Well, here are a few...Greedo fires first (originally, Greedo had Han at gunpoint, but intended only to threaten him and take him captive to Jabba. Han shot him unawares under the table).
Jabba meets Han at the Falcon's hangar bay in a shot that was filmed with an actor in costume, but not included originally because they couldn't yet process a Jabba figure over the actor. They did it with CGI for the 90's do-over.
The band in Jabba's palace in RotJ is altogether different. It isn't an improvement.
The victory celebration at the end of RotJ is expanded and includes, among other items, the toppling of Palpatine's statue on Coruscant. That shot was the first view of some of the models and CG elements being produced for Episode I, which was released in 1999.
What, me a Star Wars geek? Perish the thought.

Not this late. I want to sleep some time tonight. Tonight I've had a microwaved chicken cordon bleu, half a can of green beans, half a banana, and OJ.
