MTV, ROLLING STONE and the rock and roll establishment -- past and present -- have cast their vote, and their man is John Kerry.
So on Sunday night when John Kerry's daughters were announced to speak at the annual MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS, the MTV youth were expected to welcome his daughter's as pop culture princesses.
Instead, in an era of the unexpected, the daughters of the Democratic candidate were met with a resounding wall of boos at the filming in Miami.
From the moment Alexandra and Vanessa started speaking, the boos outweighed anything close to cheers, and the reaction turned worse when the daughters asked the VIACOM youth to vote for their father. So shocked by the reaction, the taller of the two daughters tried to 'shhhhhh' her peers to no avail.
Blame it on Katherine Harris!
Immediate calls for a recount emerged from the Kerry camp. 'They must have thought they were the Bush twins!' Lawyers have been called in to overturn the results and ABC'S NIGHTLINE is on the verge of doing wall to wall town hall meetings to try to talk America's youth back to their senses.
Calls to Kerry spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter, REM's Michael Stipe, Moby and MTV's Judy McGrath asking for an explanation were all left unreturned.
Developing...
How strange is this?
How were the Bush daughters received?
Just watched the replay of this. The Kerry girls got booed, and booed hard. You can tell the booing was massive because they turned around to see where the boos were coming from, and then one of them did the ssshhh sign.
I love rich kids who could care less about politics telling the "little" people what to do.
Good 4 MTV, they didn't edit out the boos.
Gotta say though, after seeing and hearing the Bush twins....how do I say this....um....nice kids, I'm sure...and their parents are great...but definitely not my type.
They weren't saying 'boo', they were saying 'boo-urns'
I'm trying to figure out if I'm glad this happened or if I feel sorry for them.
OH BOO HOO.
I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
. . . uhhhhh
saddened.
NOT!
Reality strikes even DIMRATS occasionally, it seems!
LOL.
How were the President's daughter recieved?
Is this a real response or conservatives who snuck in and pulled a fast one?
I doubt many got your quip. As a Simsonphile, I laughed out loud when I read it. Good one!
Is the dark haired witch on the right actually shuuussshing everyone with her finger over her lips?
Unbelieveable.
Please do not start to feel sorry for them. They went out there with the self assured self confidence that they would be accepted and welcomed, as the near celebrities that they feel is there birthright.
You can tell by the actions of the one on the right (the brunette) that she is treating the audience as if they were petulant little kids who did not know better.
Truth be told, that is exactly how these rich egotistical snobs, feel about all of us 'little people' who would dare to try and question them.
Didn't Kerry get Senior Spilbergo to do his bio film?
"Drink up, Judah Ben Hur. You truly are the king of kings."
Kerry's girls along with Edwards' kids will be in Orlando tomorrow(Monday)
What: Town Hall Meeting with Vanessa Kerry, Cate Edwards, Andre Heinz
Where: Key West Ballroom AB at the Student Union at UCF
When: Monday, August 30 - 4:00 P.M.
Okay, I won't feel sorry for them. I hope I haven't missed where they come in but I actually found MTV, I have it exed out so I don't run by it when I'm surfing, and I have it on right now.
Did the Bush girls get booed too?
I don't think they should have been treated disrespectfully at an MTV award dinner or any other function for that matter. They are young women who happen to be the daughters of a candidate in a very heated political race. They are probably not fully familiar with their father's legislation and political career, and were asked or recruited to come and say some nice things about dad. The reaction of the audience just shows how far as a society we've fallen from the days when people could act in a civil and courteous manner. They're just kids caught in the crossfire, and the audience's reaction just smacks of very bad taste.
I just love those ficklly, prickly WISHY-WASHY Hollywood weekend politicians.
LoL
LOL! Yeh, a little of the "Linda Round-stadt Syndrome"....... but then again maybe alot of them have Vets in the family. I know I hipped up my nieces to The Swifties, and they are voting for a guy with G.W. in his name!
