According to author Christoph Luxenberg, due to a possible mistranslation of the Koran (if one were to read certain words as Syriac instead of Arabic), the "virgins" some terrorists believe they will be rewarded with in paradise may be "white raisins" of "crystal clarity" instead.

I had heard this several years ago. I wish there was a way to tell all of the jihadists what is waiting for them.

Jihadists get two Boogers, some used toilet paper, my Ex-wife's golf clubs (that I bent up), and 25 cents to call someone that gives a crap.

Actually heard a terrorist spokesman (PLO) talking about wanting to die a martyr and recieve his 70 virgins. Yes he said 70, I remember the number struck me as strange.

The whole Koran is a mistranslation of the Bible. Those who claim that muslims pray to the same god as Jews and Christians ignore the Mohammed rewrote (or was "handed") the Bible rewritten to suit his whims.
Islam is an "anti-Christian" religion even if Mohammed was not THE anti-Christ. It is designed to lead the flock away from Christ in the name of good. Jews deny that Jesus was divine, they are still awaiting the first coming. Muslims acknowledge some significance in Jesus but deny the divinity (that He's the Son of God) and the resurrection (without it we are all doomed). If Jesus is not who He said He was, then He was a liar/fraud and a false messiah. If He was God incarnate then it is the single most important event in human history. I don't buy Mohammed's "claim" that the Bible got it wrong.

Not quite ~ Mohammad never received a complete copy of even a single Gospel. This was the Dark Ages, and at best he had partial transcripts of New Testament Letters, possibly the Book of Proverbs (although not in Aramaic or Hebrew), and maybe chunks and bits of a Torah buried hundreds of years before somewhere in the vicinity of Mecca.
The "72 Virgins" story is NOT PART OF THE KORAN. Instead, it is in an Hadith, and these items are simply stories about the life and times of the Prophet. Many of them were made up for political purposes, or inheritance (the prize being the Islamic state ~ see Shia).
No Christian should place great faith in the reliability of any Hadith! Few reflective Moslems do. Most folks, though, keep their mouths shut because there are these ignoramuses out there who will kill you for criticizing the Koran or the Hadiths.
The "72 Virgins" story is one of the more questionable items in the collection.

With the way the martyrs like to die, I would be surprised if it was 72 surgeons.

I've more than "hadith" with these terrorists using their weird beliefs to justify heinous crimes...

I was told that the Jihadists have mis-interpretted it.
According to my sources, it's actually a single 72 year old virgin.

I heard it was 72 Virginians!

The koran claims it's clear and easy to read/interpretate, so there can be nothing wronly mistranslated according to billions of muslims since 1400 years.
It would be a shock to the jihadies if they went to paradise to get their virgins and get raisins instead lol.
The thing is the koran also promises other things to come with the virgins/raisins, namely young boys (as beautifull as pearls) to serve you and a bunch of slaves too.
Also sura 44:51-55 describe what you can expect there:

Or sura 55:70-77
http://www.universalunity.net/quran4/055.qmt.html
No raisins. He looks too much to the word and not to the rest of the koran.
