Unfortunately, the GM management is too stupid and schlerotic to ever actually *build* or *sell* a car like this.... or if they do, they will make it as ugly as possible.

Maybe they shouldn't have used the letters 'SS' . . . Libs will start calling it the hitlermobile.
By the way, Hitler was totally gay. I used the SS, the way the pedo priests used altar boys.

I agree with pepper. GM will think its too cool for the average americans. They will "committee" this thing to death, make it look like crap.

The car looks great. When it comes to sharp-looking cars, Bob Lutz is the man (he brought Dodge out of the boxy K-car era). But doesn't GM have the money to develop a five-speed or six-speed automatic transmission? It seems that GM is always behind the curve on technology.

It's fiberglass isn't it, and not real smooth.

GM and Ford both seem to be allergic to selling any decent cars other than the Corvette or new Mustang.
Here's Ford's view of their customers (from an article about the boring new Ford Five Hundred):
While General Motors and the Chrysler group are expanding their lines with rear-drive models, ["executive director for medium and large front-drive and all-wheel-drive platforms" Paul] Mascarenas said: "I'm not sure the customer needs rear-wheel drive."

This car shuts down cylinders when it needs to.
To: MarkeyD
Doesn't come close to this baby, I like the styling on this better than the new corvette style, which sucks by the way.
To: John Lenin
Looks like a squat Volkswagen bug. Just hope they don't overprice.

I like the stats, but the body looks blaaah. Was hoping for a resurrected muscle car style. Oh well.

The body looks blah ? It reminds me of a modern version of the 68 ss Camaro.
To: John Lenin
I don't typically like Corvettes. But I did like the previous version and the new one. I'm more of an Acura NSX person.

To me, they couldn't lose with the new Bel Air. So where is it?

The body looks blah ? It reminds me of a modern version of the 68 ss Camaro. It looks too modern to ever be confused with a 68 Camaro. I am struggling to remember my favorite cars from that time, besides Chevy Impalas. Dodge Chargers, Barracudas, GTO's, etc. This car looks like plastic. I'm sorry, but it doesn't do anything for me. I'll show it to my friend who does restoration, and ask him what he thinks.
