Over the last 2 months, my cat has had to kill two bats that have gotten into my house. I can hear the critters in the walls of the top floor. Once they are gone, I realize that I will have to seal everything up, so as to make sure they don't return, but I need them out first. I am positive theres a small group of them living in the attic. Has anyone had luck in mass killing these things? Any suggestions? All the websites I've seen have little helpful advice on eradication, one even suggested it was a positive, and I can't find a good exterminator.
Isn't there a bat lady on FR? Can't think of her handle right now--something to do with bats.

Get a really, really loud ultra high frequency device that will drive them nuts but which will be unheard by you.

I once removed over 50 bats from my house.
1. Wait until nightfall. The bats leave at dusk.
2. Watch for where they are exiting our home.
3. Go to spot where they are existing and fill in hole. They can be quite small. I used foam urethane in a can.
4. In the morning go outside and you will see the bat hanging around not knowing what to do.
5. Repeat the next night as not all bats leave at night.
I consider them a blessing provided they can be kept from the interior. Bats eat bugs by the basketful every evening. Better than a zapper.
Sorry but your home is now occupied by the endangered dumb-bat.

I hate it when that happens. My cats catch them outside and bring them in alive through the kitty door and turn them loose. Once the let a live rat loose in the house and it took months for them to cach it again and kill it.
I've tried, I just can't ever spot them exiting. I'll be out there again tonight and will keep looking I guess.
I have a man made stucco and I offered to animal control, aka local PETA and offered to take him out with 22 but was told I would be arrested forinjuring an "endangered species."
Haven't had time to read the article. But, from your headline, it is impossible to answer unless we know if they are aluminum or the old fashioned wooden ones.
My dad sent my brother and cousins to our attic with BB guns to practice target shooting on our bat problem. Moth balls and ammonia work very well on squirrels. Try it. IMO I think BB guns would be fun. Round up every male pre-teen you know and let them have at it.
