Hello all. I just found this site and am making my first post. It's my latest email to O'Reilly and I'm wondering if there are many of you who feel the same way.
Bill,
I used to watch you for the entire hour; now I watch you for five or ten minutes just to see if you have stepped up to the plate on the Swift Boat story. Now I see you're hoping it will go away. What I hope is that you go away and make room for a real journalist because I'll sure as hell never trust you again.
P.S. You showed more respect to Baldwin and Moore than you have to the Swift Boat Vets!
Print out and wear as a Campaign Button or go HERE to print.
Feel free to reuse this anywhere you wish...
I always saw O'Reilly as having no core values. He tries so so hard to be viewed as independent he really is all over the map. His radio ( I listened twice) is the most boring show on the air by far.
Like his e-mail, but don't trust the newbie......
Your tag line! Those are PRECIOUS words to me. I LOVE those passages!!!
Welcome to Free Republic.
I think you are getting off on the right foot.
I have never been so disappointed in a Fox Newser than I am now with O'Reilly. Talk about dropping the ball. The Swiftees (scores of them) are personal witnesses to the character of a man who would be Commander-in-Chief and O'Reilly just kisses them off as liars. He prefers to believe Kerry. Pathetic.
He especially pissed me off when he planned a cou on Rush's time slot when he lost his hearing.... oh, that was classless.... or classic liberal socialist.
I do NOT listen to Billy O' anymore. He wussed out with Michael Moore and Alec Baldwin. I'll spend that hour online with www.freerepublic.com.
I also have been disappointed with O'Reilly lately. To me it seems he has become so obsessed with his critics/rivals, particularly with the NY Times, that he is doing everything possible to be able to thumb his nose at them and say "see, i was fair with Mr. Moore...see, i didn't jump all over Kerry on this Swift boat thing...so i don't have an idealogical agenda like you guys obviously do."
It's as though he is more worried about scoring points against his critics than he is about getting to the bottom of a story.
whats wrong with O'reilly is he keeps getting hammered by the MSM as being partisan. SO, he has crawled into a little hole and is trying for god only know what reason to prove them wrong... In a nutshell, the man is an idiot for taking the bait.
There's a pattern developing on threads reference Mr. Bill O'Reilly on FreeRepublic.....Attacking the messenger vice the message....Reminds me of a methodology that "lots" of politicians and political factions use. Regardless of your position(s), Mr O'Reilly stands by what he believes in. I could care less of his political leaning...left/centrist/right. You sir, and most of the anti-O'Reilly crowd are being intellectually deficient in your arguments for "why" you don't like Mr. O'Reilly
Y'see? Now: THAT's the beauty of FreeRepublic! greencell is permitted to profess his many w#t dreams about that past-it gasbag while the rest of us know the Truth about Blo'Reilly. What a truly wonderful place this is!
That is not true. See last Sunday's Washington Post as one source that was able to separate fact from emotion and name eyewitnesses. He doesn't even have the professionalism to listen to facts, fat chance he'll listen politely (keyword, politely) to the swift boat vets themselves, IMO.
Mostly his radio shows have become non-stop whining about how mean others have been to him -- that's why he won't tolerate the swift boat veterans. They are being unfair to Kerry, he says. No one can prove or disprove either side, he says. Oh really?
Some say he and Fox are currying favor to get Kerry on the air -- maybe. I still say it's Matt Drudge. Drudge was out early with this story and it's professional jealousy on top of the pure hatred O'Reilly has for Drudge. He hoped the story would bomb and embarrass Drudge.
Why do I continue to listen? Good question.
You Said:
"O'Reilly continues. He's equating the swift boat Vietnam War veterans with Michael Moore, Frankel and others of that ilk. (His radio show, example: 25 Aug.) He lectured a caller on primary witness -- only one of the swift boat vets was a primary witness. All the rest of them are spouting hearsay, says O'Reilly.

What O'Reilly is doing is exactly what he should be doing...equating them as the same...why? Because a 527 is a 527...President Bush is right to condemn them all but, what the President is really/should be saying is that this is a fight between mr kerry and the Swift Boat Veterans.
O'Reilly is taking the high road...albeit maybe a little too radical for me because I support the Swift Boat Veterans...but, the way he maintains his supposedly journalistic credibility in being "fair & balanced"....Have a great day!
Please!. . .You were 'new' once. . .December 8, 2000. . .not soooooo long ago!
Well, he has offered that Kerry is a 'friend' of his.
Maybe O'Reilly thinks - or maybe Kerry has offered - that if he stays on the 'narrow'(NO SWIFTBOAT VETS!) with Kerry; he will offer him a job. . .Department of Education (?) or something more exciting.
That said; O'Reilly, IS hollow when it comes to political values; does not get 'the idiology' thing at all. . .
When I 'listened' to his first book (only thing to find in a hurry for trip)I was surprised that it was pretty good; one thing bothered me however; for all the problems he related that we face; he never once said the word 'Liberal'. . .then I noticed he NEVER used the word at all. Took another year before he then 'named the name'. Obviously, still does not understand it however.
Of course, there is Laura Ingraham or even Ann Coulter; but they would get bored. . .and Fox would lose 'fair and balanced' world title.
Of course, O'Reilly has already said they are friends; and what are friends for?
Of course, with friends like Kerry; who would know.
I heard on the radio today that employees of the FoxNews Channel had contributed 35000 dollars to political candidates, 4000 to President Bush and 31000 to Kerry. Shows you where their loyalty is and they were the best of all the media.
