As a gentleman, I shall of course accept your word on this matter.

[I love bad puns, and give them their proper due: Pain.]

A distinguished future in cultural anthropology awaits you.

Thanks. I've spent the last 6 or 7 years observing teens close up. There is an adjustment period one must go through At first their language is quite incomprehensible. But soon phrases like "don't be all up in the kool-aid!" will be rolling off your tongue like you were a native.

It might have been easier to understand you had you included a few items from the 2004 Abridged Beeber Dictionary:

peeps : slutty beeber operators

where : can be used interchangeably with the words "wear" "ware" and "weir" by peeps when they want to describe what they are wearing, their cookware, and what they use to go fishing... but NEVER, EVER do they use the word "where" to refer to location.

rebllious : a venereal disease in slutty beeber operators with some disasterous symptoms

knecks : beeber operator testicles.

knocks : a pair of loose slutty beeber operator mammary glands: salternatively called "peeps' hooters."

suicidle : adjective describing beeber operators who tie up bridge traffic for hours pretending to be about to jump, but never do.

taht : liberal media

b/fs : anal-retentive gerbils

experiance : an event that makes beebers go off at inappropriate times.

I ran your post through the Redneck Translator, worked on capitalization and threw a few paragraphs in so that I could understand it more clearly. I hope you don't mind . . .

Sorry but I'm ah Jr High student 'n half uv maw friends 'n cousins 'n maw school wear thar dang bracelets 'n dont play thar dang game, pardner. Just cuz some peeps wear 'em fuh thut thar re-ason its kinda like prostitutes only doin' that, Leroy!

Our parents are always badgerin' us about thar dang bracelets like do y'all know wut those mean why do y'all where those? Thut thar thar usually winds up 'n I don't want y'all tuh wear 'em 'n thut thar makes us wear 'em more! I doubt thut thar anyone would lose sleep ovuh 'em 'n if y'all did y'alls just tryin' tuh prevent y'alls children ferm wearin' wut them's want.

Why do y'all think children become re-bllious 'n move away ferm there parents 'n nevuh talk tuh 'em again? Gee I wonduh could thut thar thar bay thar dang lack uv freedom or maybe thar dang leash we'all are put on am tied tuh tight around our knecks chokin' us until we'all are depressed 'n suicidle, hot damn! Them's are just bracelets 'n if we'all hadnt thar dang idea uv 'em as sex we'all wouldnt nevuh thought uv that!

We'all are young 'n most uv us naive enough tuh believe stupid stuff like taht, pardner. And we'all wonduh why this'n world cannot become bettuh then thut thar thar already am because our priorities are screwed 'n there am naw trust 'n thar dang younguh generashuns!

If y'all dont want y'alls daughtuh tuh get pregnant dont ban huh ferm b/fs because thut thar kin bay an excitin' experiance 'n ah young persons life tell huh thar dang facts 'n then thar hen kin make ah well informed decision 'n y'all kin (believe thut thar thar or not) trust her.

There. Thats better . . .

Kid,
If your really are a Jr. High aged kid, I have some good advice for you.

I have an idea, turn on your tv. During the hours of 7 - 10 pm Cent., you will see a thing on NBC called the Olympics. Kids, many who are not much older than yourself, from across the United States, as well as from around the world, are giving it their all.

Their reward? A hunk of medal that hangs around one's neck from a piece of fabric. Their other reward? The admiration of people from around the globe.

One person you may want to pay attention to is a young 19 year old named Michael Phelps. At current, he is considered the best overall swimmer in the world. Right now, he has the weight of the world on his shoulders. From watching him, you would never guess that. He stays calm and holds himself in a very mature way.

In the light of mass media exposure, Phelps has resisted becoming an ego maniac (and trust me, the media has not been fair with him, so he could easily have an attitude). He is a good kid. Actually, he is a fine young man. So far, in the course of 4 days, he has earned himself two individual GOLD MEDALS, two Bronze Medals, and (what he seems to be most excited about thus far) A Team Relay Gold Medal. Thus marking his place in history. But what is really telling about Phelps, is that he kept a calm and gentleman like poise when he was awarded his two individual Gold Medals.

It was not until he was part of a TEAM in a relay that won a TEAM GOLD MEDAL, that he jumped up yelling out loud in victory. It shows that he understands there are things that are bigger than himself. The pride of the nation rested on the swimming abilities of he and his team mates. American swim fans wanted that relay, and Phelps helped deliver it. But he was quick to point out his fellow team members. He knows it is not about him. And he knows how lucky he was to be part of that team. One of his team mates dedicated the win to our fine Troops serving in Iraq and elsewhere.

I am telling you about Phelps and his fellow Olympians for a reason. Maybe, if you wake up, you can have a future like they have. But to do so, you will have to understand there are rules that folks have to live by.

For Phelps, that includes waking up at 4 AM (even on holidays) to go practice. Then he goes to school. Then he goes to practice even more. He is disciplined, and that is a testimony to his parents. Even though Phelps has now earned, as a result of his efforts and discipline, large financial endorsements (most of which goes to his college fund and training and competition expenses), he still has to obey his parents. Which is why his first car is a used vehicle, not new.

Just think about it, you could strive for all of that. You could have people cheering your name. But to do so, you need to understand one thing. Right now, you don't know squat, and your parents know everything. They are your only life line right now. They understand that if you wear those stupid bracelets, you will be seen as cheap trash. No matter what your intent is in wearing them, that is what will happen.

Listen to your parents, it may just pay off in Gold.

LOL! You know what I meant!

Thanks for the funny comment, though!

Isn't the whole idea pretty funny though? I remember being sent home because my 'skort' was too short.

LOL, ya know what I mean?

Ha!

I think the plastic wrist bands have come and gone.

Ha, you are a bit younger than me - jeans. Never even CONSIDERED.

Kind of similiar, I think that FADS come and go so quickly.

I find it rather fun that youngsters start a 'new' fad. It probably isn't new one bit. But every generation must establish themselves and what they think, eh?

Let's hope the plastic sex bracelets don't tell of their 'next' generation.

LOL!!!

If my long term memory is correct, back in the 60's we wore hard plastic colored bracelets. I think it just meant we were "tacky"! lol

What's really bizarre is the fact that oompa-loompa.net and oompa-loompa.com have both vanished into thin air.

I smell a conspiracy a' brewin'!
