LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) The boys of "South Park" will be coming to a broadcast station near you -- 85 percent of you, anyway -- next year. The boundary-breaking Comedy Central cartoon about potty-mouthed kids and their sleepy Colorado town will debut in syndication in fall 2005 in about 85 percent of the country, according to the Hollywood trade papers.
Creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker struck a syndication deal last year with Debmar Studios, which sold the show in most of the nation's biggest markets. Debmar recently entered a partnership with Tribune Entertainment (whose parent, Tribune Co., also owns Zap2it.com) to clear "South Park" in other areas.
"South Park" debuted on Comedy Central in August 1997 and is now well past the 100-episode benchmark for syndication. Local outlets controlled by a number of the largest station-group, owners, including Tribune, Sinclair, Viacom, Cox and Scripps-Howard, will carry the show. There's no word on whether, or how, the profanity-laced show will have to be edited to conform to the tighter standards of broadcast TV. It's probably a safe bet, though, that the episode in which "s***" is uttered 162 times won't be in the regular rotation for the broadcast stations.

SOUTH PARK PING!
For those who don't know how you got on this ping list: the initial ping list was created by copying member names from past South Park threads.
Please ping me with any South Park related articles. Thank you!
If you want on or off this ping list, please FReepmail me.
This is expected to be a low to medium volume ping list.

Eventually, I will be turning this ping list over to someone else. Until then, see you next time. :)

I love South Park, but putting it on broadcast is so so wrong. Look for a lot of stations to lose licenses. On the other hand, there will be something to watch at 1am.

Somehow I don't think they'll be showing the episode with the 200+ S-Bombs.

this will ruin south park because they will have to clean it up for the holy-holies...
I won't watch it if they cut out the cutting edge.

Personally, I'll be surprised if they air the "chicken f***er" episode.
