The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Oh, you're a bad mother, all right. Just wait until the next time you say something like "No, you may not have thirds of ice cream" and ask her.

;-p

It is *really* starting to torque my load that I have to re-connect and re-login to wayport for *every* *stinking* *refresh* of any page.

Arrrggghhh...

Night, all! I haven't been around much lately, but working on 2 jobs is wiping me out. Got over a major hurdle tonight, though (had to write a PHP script to upload a set of photos, resize each to 450 pixels, and create a 96 pixel thumbnail). I stayed up much too late last night working on it, and coupled with a full day of training on my temp job, I'm fading fast.

That doesn't sound fun! Think that calls for Wild Turkey.

LOL! I forgot about TV Sinbad. That wasn't quite up to the same standards as the movies :) I still had fun watching it, though. Didn't that used to come on after "Hercules" or something?

Yep...and being of the female persuasion, I think you can guess why *I* was a fan...*wink wink nod nod say no more say no more*...plus he was a rather good swordsman

Yup, always a good laugh there.

Most of the Indians I've worked with have fairly good spoken English, although it's hard to understand. In general their written English is pretty bad, though. I wonder if the typical English class over there focuses more on speaking. So they can go work tech support, maybe.

What, am I the only one who actually watches these things for the plots? :)

Well, at least you've got that covered! Good luck getting that fixed soon--I know that would drive me nuts.

Going to Green Bay tomorrow afternoon to watch the Packers practice. Should be interesting--it'll be the first time I've gone to preseason practice.
