Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Great! I tell ya, it was just scary enough...they watched it 4-5 times before I returned it!
Thanks for the tips...I'll check into it right now...
Our network engineer (the Cisco dude) is Indian... and has a *really* thick accent, if you can even call it that. For some reason I'm the only person in the department that can understand a word he says. I'm always having to translate... it's really odd to translate broken english into english.
Ramius, the D-9 s were what I saw in Oregon as the industry standard, a few (cough) years ago (summer of '68). Three logs maybe four to rail car load, half a dozen or so to a truck load.
I requested them!! There's no long wait on them, so I should get them pretty quick!
Thank you so much for the suggestions...I'm always looking for movie suggestions for the jedis. Chicken Run was the best suggestion ever!
They like suspenseful but not terrifying movies...ummm, Pet Cemetary was a bit too much for Joshua. He slept in with me for two nights.
Wow, sounds like they really liked it! Here's some other good 50s alien sf ones that are pretty G-rated:
When Worlds Collide
The Day the Earth Stood Still
The Thing
It Came from Outer Space
This Island Earth
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
I Married a Monster from Outer Space
LOL!!! Thank you so much...I'm requesting like mad!
Good night Hobbit Hole!!
I've gotta get some sleep tonight - meeting at 9am about the hurricane and what the company's policy says about who comes in and when.
I've only got one payroll tomorrow, so I hope to set some breakfast out in the morning.
(((HOBBIT HOLE)))
Big logs out 'round these parts. :-) 'specially back then.
G'nite Ruthie
G'nite HH
Ray Harryhausen (who did the special effects in Earth vs. the Flying Saucers) also did the Sinbad movies, which I loved when I was that age:
The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad
The Golden Voyage of Sinbad
Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger
Also try:
Jason and the Argonauts
Clash of the Titans
G'night, Ruthy! Stay safe!
G'night, Bear!
Niters Ruthee... :-)
I understand the smoking ambivalence. It may be that the change in climate has made you more sensitive. I know it does so to my mother simply when they come to visit me from the Hill Country. All the vegetation here on the coast sends her sinuses reeling.
I for one don't ever mind if its cigar or pipe smoke (Ive been known to smoke a Partagas or two once in a while.) Some of the loveliest smells to me...but cigarettes! I have an asthmatic reaction to them...can't draw in oxygen while the smoke floats around me. Too busy trying to breathe to notice any smell...
Tomorrow is first day of school for Miss Giggle Face. WHAT A RELIEF!! (arent I a bad mommy?!) (she goes to private school)
Nitey Nite Ruthie! Sweet dreams!
Heh... last summer we went to Virginia to visit my grandparents, and my great-uncle and his friend from England were there. So we all went out to Laurel Caverns... anyway, the tour guide was from West Virginia. I was the only one able to understand her. So I kept translating for everyone, especially the English guys who really didn't have a clue.
Oh yeah...Sinbad movies!! Thank you again, Fedora!
Good night all...I'm logging off too...gotta finish spiffing up the living room for Matthew's guest tomorrow. Then I have to get up early to make a book sale.
