~The Dragon Flies' Lair~Thread XIV~
July 23, 2004 | bentfeather and Poets of the Lair

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Moving in shadow
tall or low
throught misty, foggy, bogs, and bough
slows the trek, but not the end
moving in shadow thickens the plot
but does not darken the pot

The journey is the means
the path rocky and uncut
through daylight and dusk
you run the course
what matters most is
your own worth
at days end
morning comes with dawn
and you run again

Thanks... heartache is usually my best poetic subject. I suppose
it comes from me being a very sensitive person. Sometimes
looking at me wrong can make me upset... strange, I know.

The Panther

His tired gaze--from passing endless bars--
has turned into a vacant stare which nothing holds.
To him there seem to be a thousand bars,
and out beyond these bars exists no world.

His supple gait, the smoothness of strong strides
that gently turn in ever smaller circles
perform a dance of strength, centered deep within
a will, stunned, but untamed, indomitable.

But sometimes the curtains of his eyelids part,
the pupils of his eyes dilate as images
of past encounters enter while through his limbs
a tension strains in silence
only to cease to be, to die within his heart.

Rainer Maria Rilke

Good morning, Sam.

The Panther

Sad these wild animals are pent up. They are wild and should remain so.

I'm listening to tunes and having coffee in the Lair.

Thanks Sam, have a great day.

Hi Feather. I get mixed feelings when I'm at the zoo. I know the animals should be free but I do enjoy seeing them.

Well, most zoos these days are into making a natural habitat for animals. Much different from past years.

Thanks. I only thought of it while reading
bentfeather's post before mine. Post #658.
I think it was something about the graphic.

Oh. It's called "Broken", it's on another movie soundtrack
like "Bring Me to Life" was. The Punisher soundtrack.
