My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Oh yes, she can be very elusive.:-)
To: bentfeather
Sometimes she reminds me of one of those kids on the
playground who comes running up behind you so you can't
see them, knock you into a puddle & run off again before
you have a chance to see what happened or even who it was.

I seem to recall writing about your elusive muse, am I right?

Bittersweet, and a really good tribute.
We lost Thomas the Brute in January two years past. Same age, and he was a Pixie Bobcat - the inspiration for one of my book's characters, actually.
It's amazing what they do to you.

I'm not as much a cat person as I am a dog person. But you can't help but like cats. Laura Earl and KC were very close. He worshipped her and acted more like a dog than a cat. When she called his name he'd come running.

Like The Train's Beat

Like the train's beat
Swift language flutters the lips
Of the Polish airgirl in the corner seat,
The swinging and narrowing sun
Lights her eyelashes, shapes
Her sharp vivacity of bone.
Hair, wild and controlled, runs back:
And gestures like these English oaks
Flash past the windows of her foreign talk.
The train runs on through wilderness
Of cities. Still the hammered miles
Diversify behind her face.
And all humanity of interest
Before her angled beauty falls,
As whorling notes are pressed
In a bird's throat, issuing meaningless
Through written skies; a voice
Watering a stony place.

Good morning to the Lair! Some Teasdale for Miss Feather this morning :)
The Wind
Sarah Teasdale
A wind is blowing over my soul,
I hear it cry the whole night through --
Is there no peace for me on earth
Except with you?
Alas, the wind has made me wise,
Over my naked soul it blew, --
There is no peace for me on earth
Even with you.

Good morning everyone.
Thanks Sam, and Colonel for opening the doors.

Good morning, Colonel!
The Wind
Sarah Teasdale
Wonderful words from Sarah this morning. So beautiful.
I have been thinking along those same lines in the wee morning hours when sleep eludes me. I have been getting only snippets of lines. I'm waiting for them to gel and start to flow.
Have a grand day,
Cloudy in the the Empire State, and it's going to rain. Temps are in the 70s this morn.

Hi Sam!!
A puzzle of a poem this morning.
"Like The Train's Beat " Is this poet Polish?
Great train picture.
Thanks for tunes, poetry, and Breakfast.
Have a great day.
To: SAMWolf; Colonel_Flagg
"Every time You Go Away" reminds me of Sarah's poem Colonel Flagg posted this morning.
To: Colonel_Flagg

Good morning to you too! I hope you are having a great day.
I had the same feelings you did right after reading Darkchylde's poem of yesterday. Funny how someone else can spark one's muse into life :)

Break Dancing the Moon
Break dancing the moon
while a silky morning
swallows dawn
Soft lips kiss
desire goodbye
for the chase
he gives
your love
a midday roll
'till the man in the moon
touches dewy dark earth...

To: bentfeather

I am sick and tired of work,
the urge for play, to get up and lurk
around the corner, to hide myself
and jump out with a "Boo!" like a mischievious elf,
It's so overpowering, on such a day
when I'd rather be elsewhere to laugh and to play.
The sky is awash with glorious shine,
and here I am inside, a mule in a mine.
But my window is not made of glass; it's a screen,
while I bask my eyes in its unblinking sheen
I see images, verses and carefree places,
and I can only imagine your faces
as I pucker and bug-eye and blow my cheeks out
pulling funny faces at the world that's without,
But until that time when I leave this dull place,
I'll just read, and write, with a silly face.
