My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Sometimes, in writing, a person can try long and hard to find a certain emotion and then watches as another person just goes out and does it.
So you have done to me. Well done!!!

The Flower Boat

The fisherman's swapping a yarn for a yarn
Under the hand of the village barber,
And her in the angle of house and barn
His deep-sea dory has found a harbor.
At anchor she rides the sunny sod
As full to the gunnel of flowers growing
As ever she turned her home with cod
From George's bank when winds were blowing.
And I judge from that elysian freight
That all they ask is rougher weather,
And dory and master will sail by fate
To seek the Happy Isles together.

Why, thank you! I trust you're well today too. Sort of a gray morning here, which means working seems just a little easier. :)

Grey morning here, too. I am well, thank you.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss of KC. Many people don't understand the grief felt upon losing a pet. I think all of us here do and we are sad for Laura. It was sweet of you to stay with him, she will always love you for that I'm sure. Only time heals. Your poem is very touching. Thank you for sharing with the Lair.

Thanks. I had been in one of those writing slumps
for a while & recently came back... It feels good
when your writing is appreciated or is inspiring.

It's just good to be writing again. It's difficult
when you have a thought, but just can't write.

I know that feeling well. I haven't been able to write for months. :-(
Sometimes there is just too much going on in my head to think straight. :-)

Sometimes I just write one line down. If I'm
lucky, seeing it on paper triggers more thoughts
& I end up writing a poem. If not, it ends up one
thought on paper never to be heard from again.
