The Hobbit Hole XIII - Let them pass! Let them pass!
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Aha! I must study your funkling technique. . .

Yes, you should, Grasshopper. There are some here who consider me a master funkler!

If you were here, would you be able to start the mower?

It won't run. I'm letting it sit and think a minute.

86 outside here. More like mid-nineties in here.

As one guy just asked, can you sweat to death?

I'm melting...melting!

That's a little weird.

I am an outdoorsy kind of gal.

I like being outdoors.

I still hate mowing.

I'm not even sure why...I like other gardening stuff! I think most of it is that I gotta lug the darned mower up from the basement.

We've got air conditioning... mmm... it's nice and cool... sorry, that's mean.

Oh, yay, over lunch I found the latest FMA episode, translated by a group that, um, speaks both Japanese and English. I'd found it from another place earlier in the week, but when *I* can tell the translation's just plain wrong, it's bad. I haven't decided if that group doesn't speak Japanese, or doesn't speak English. Perhaps it was translated by way of Portugese.

It's ALWAYS my fault, even when I'm not present.

Maybe they used something like babelfish...

Well, the one bright side of the weather is that my vegetables are coming along right well...the cherry tomatoes are starting to turn orange, and there are TONS of small tomatoes on my other plant. I also have baby zucchini, finally.

Yeah, I know, I know...you don't like 'em. But I do, and I'm excited!

"It's ALWAYS my fault, even when I'm not present."

*I* know that, but we must let the authorities think otherwise--can't let them get too close to the truth about BSIC. . .

I'm happy for you! You'll be able to eat out of your garden soon!

Oh, meant to ask, since you didn't really say, what you thought of the episodes you watched last night.

Every time I look at Scrapped Princess' sideburn curls it makes me think of macaroni noodles.

I'm already very happy with having so many herbs, though there are others I'd like to have. The thyme is pretty small...I'd like to have more; and my parsley kinda petered out after I transplanted it. I'd also like to have tea type herbs, like chamomile, and I'd love it if I could grow peppers next year.

FMA seems promising. It's interesting so far. The style is a bit different from others I've seen - lot more exaggeration when the characters are angry, for example, which takes some getting used to. But I think I'll enjoy it.

Heh, yes, it's got a lot of little moments when the character's face gets all funny looking. I think it's called "chibi" style, and is meant, usually, to show anger/embarressment/surprise. You get used to it after a while, it's just a thing they do. I think it's just because it's hard to draw expressions. Especially on a suit of armor.

I think the art style has a lot in common with Scrapped Princess, at least as compared to other anime I've seen. It has the same vibrant colors, at least.

I'd like to grow peppers. I eat enough! Maybe I'll get window boxes or something, just for fun.
