The Hobbit Hole XIII - Let them pass! Let them pass!
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Good lord, can you imagine? It'd probably make a great reality show, though...

"3 MINUTE CHOCOLATE CAKE"

It only takes 3 minutes? Uh-oh, now I'm going to be tempted to make chocolate cake all the time :)

"It's a tension headache though...woke up with it...could feel my jaw, eyes, forehead and neck all tight."

Sometimes massaging and stretching my face/neck/shoulder muscles helps me with those. I usually do this:

Massage: top of scalp using fingertips, points on either side of base of skull with thumbs, wipe horizontally across forehead and bottom of face with palms,
wipe vertically, rub point under centers of eyebrows with thumbs, rub temples, rub sides of top of nose with fingers, rub sides of jaw with palms, rub ears in circles with cupped palms, wipe hands down neck

Stretch:

--Jaw: Yawn and open the eyes and mouth wide at the same time, then close the eyes tight while pursing the lips, several times; then wiggle jaw from side to side

--Neck: Bend head forwards and backwards, look side to side, tilt head to each side

--Shoulders: Shrug up and hold for a few deep breaths; shrug down; hold arms to sides; hold arms overhead; stretch each arm across body to either side

--Eyes: Look up and hold it for a few breaths; down; to each side; diagonally; roll eyes in circles

Another thing that sometimes helps me is to lie on the ground and hold the head up slightly as if to look at the feet, for about 30 seconds to 3 minutes.

And if all that doesn't work it usually means I need a nap :)

You know, Hair, I was thinking this morning, it's a good thing what happened with your marriage certificate doesn't happen with birth certificates, 'cause having to do that over would be a real pain :)

Was this an online test? - we should all take it!

It's here. Probably they get dollars from various places trying to promote growth...but it's interesting anyway.

Like I said, I got mostly Alaska, with a few Maine and Montana locations thrown in, but that PA town was the first.

Bilbo got Colorado and Pacific Northwest locations.

Find Your Spot Quiz

Turns out I'm most suited for the Carolinas. The only place in Washington that came up on the list was Mount Vernon and that was almost the last choice! ;-)

*shakes head*

That's just too complicated for me! Gives me a headache just tryin' to read it!

"I've got a whole vocabulary I use around my family that I don't use anywhere else."

Also family quotes are hard to explain to outsiders. Our family has a list of classic "sayings" attributed to each family member which can be quoted randomly at any time.

That Kenshin manga development sounds like good news for you. Just wish there was a Barnes & Noble within 100 miles of here--sigh. . .Oh, well, I still have more SP for now, at least.

I bet it does happen! The papers were just lost.... The pastor called just to follow up, and they didn't have them.

"That's just too complicated for me! Gives me a headache just tryin' to read it!"

Hee-hee! :) It looks complicated on paper the first time you're trying to learn it but once you try it, it's easy to remember. That last exercise where you lie on the floor and look at your feet will often work just by itself, at least for certain headaches for me. Of course I usually cheat by drinking Tension Tamer, too :)

"I bet it does happen!"

Well, I've heard of being born again, but. . . :)

"The papers were just lost.... The pastor called just to follow up, and they didn't have them."

But they found them, right? Hope that's all straightened out.
