Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Did your son find a place to live? I'm so glad I have my apartment already, it would worry me to just be heading off into the wild blue yonder without a place settled on.
ROTFL!! I love the 'Kilroy was here' graffiti!
That is a VEY cool room, Corin! Did Jr. pick out the color scheme and all before he left for Brazil? Is he home already? I really like that light fixture and the rug!!
That's outstanding, OB and LSA!!
That's also my #2 son's 22nd birthday!
Most will still serve food, especially on the longer and international flights. You musta been traveling on Southwest Airlines. It's like a cattle call...
Me too. At one point the wife said last night "I hope he likes it."
I just stared at her...
I flew US-Air twice this year, and ATA once. We don't have Southwest out of Pittsburgh, I don't think.
I believe USAir had food for purchase, but it was expensive and nasty-looking. ATA is about one step up from Southwest - you at least have assigned seats. But they play country music while you're on the tarmac. When we were delayed for two hours out of Chicago, I nearly went insane.
Yeah. We've been talking about this for a while. He wanted the walls above and below the chair rail to be jet black. The gray was our compromise. (the light and rug are both from IKEA).
And yes, he got home (well to Richmond anyway) about an hour and a half ago.
Sounds like here! When I was flying north last night, I looked out the windows to the left of the plane and saw some HUGH black clouds out to the West with lightning flashing inside them. It was VEY cool to look at; I'm sure glad we were able to avoid them!
Congrats on the diploma, but DANG we're gonna just miss you. We go to Perdido Key the second week in August this year. Can't wait!
He found a nice looking (at least in the pictures) one bedroom apartment a couple of miles from school He got it for $399 a month, gas heat included! He's thrilled that he was able to get the 1BR instead of having to get a studio type!
Correct, they were Video CDs (VCDs) that were burned from MPG files. Many DVD players, but not all, can play VCDs.
Is there any easy way to convert AVI files to MPEGs?
Corin's butt...here...
10 days...
Oh, nice! Wish mine was that cheap, but I'm happy with it. Of course I have to worry a little more than hopefully your son does about security and things - I could have got a place cheaper but it made me feel unsafe in the daytime, I wouldn't have liked it after dark at all.
Er, not sure... let me see what I can find out.
There seem to be a number of freeware programs that do this. Here's one - http://www.jhepple.com/avi_to_mpeg_converter.htm . I've never used anything of the sort so I can't say how it would work.
There's a lot of software out there that will convert them. I haven't really tried any, because the files I burn are in MPG anyway. Try checking Download.com to see if there is a freeware or cheap shareware conversion program.
You kilt the thread, quite dead...
Yeah, well, he was willing to do this, sight unseen. My sister suggested I call the Austin PD to check on the area.
